Yeah...probably an unhinged Trumper. I've been seeing a lot of that too.
"She Lied."
Uh huh. Okay. For Why?
There is literally nothing in this for her. She is probably going to be ruined and unlikely to be able to get a job at a Burger King in a red state after this.
She is doing this because its the right thing to do. She has a lot to lose and almost nothing to gain.

Just watching today's hearing now. Absolutely wild. Also, lol at calls between the Secret Service or security detail at the Capitol talking about spotting rioters with AR15s and pistols, with some gunmen perched atop trees, yet no shots were fired that day. Can you imagine if these rioters were black, with the same weapons on them that day?
They weren't kidding last night when they speculated today's testimony would be shocking.

Can you imagine being on duty that day? Watching the president of the United States rile up a mob of thousands, who were knowingly armed, to overthrow and election, and then send them your way. And your calls for back up and the national guard, etc, are all coming back radio silence?
There is a whole #### of a lot more going on here than “they were white”.

Trump said to let the protesters in without security because they’re not after him. I’d suggest he couldn’t know that. How could he know there wasn’t someone in the crowd with an AF-15 or rifle intending to take him out?
Cassidy was great yesterday., I hope all of this leads to a whole whack of indictments.

just watched it, Cassidy Hutchinson was great. That took a lot of courage for sure, given the expected backlash from Trumpists and all the ramifications for her life and career. Mad respect.

All kidding aside, me too. I would have been the worst soldier. I would second guess every single order. I suppose that's what training is for...to teach you to be less selfish and more focussed on the bigger picture/orders.
I was thinking a lot about Cassidy last night. I think her youth (she's just 25) was very important to her willingness to testify so openly. She's probably a bit naive to the consequences of how she'll wear this for the rest of her life. Naive also to be idealistic and patriotic enough to come forward. Hasn't had a lifetime of achievements she doesn't want to jeopardize by putting herself in the crosshairs. Is republican and may not yet know how the republicans are notorious for eating their own when they step out of line.
So she had the exact age and frame of mind necessary to cooperate with the committee. Then she was articulate and had great recall of events. She had an innocent, girl-next-door look without being distractingly beautiful that played amazing for the cameras. No ums and ahhs in her calm speaking style. She was a fataing miracle witness. No wonder they had the surprise session yesterday. You had to lock in that live testimony in case something happened to her.

Trumpists are very focused on the steering wheel story which she just said she was told about.. not that she witnessed it. In the grand scheme of things not tremendously important - him raging and wanting them to take him to the capitol is the bigger part of the story.

Don't agree that she is ruined. Or hopeful that's she not ruined. She's going to have folks knocking at her door (probably already does) particularly from lobbyists that know that there's an end game to the MAGA stuff, at least in DC circles. DC has a LOT of angles if she is savvy enough to find them.

That was very shocking testimony. Although as she didn’t directly observe any of Trump’s insanity, I wonder how much weight will be put on her narrative. I wonder if they are subpoenaing the two guys who were telling her about all this insanity. That would be interesting as I’m sure they’d be able to add a few tidbits.

She'll have the loonies after her for a while - death threats and all that stuff. Hopefully it just stays as threats - but its not going to be a fun time for her for a long while.

Let her come to Canada for all I care! She did a fantastic job and hopefully helped the case to put the Grand Cheeto behind bars. Seeing that goon in an orange jump suit (which would suit him in more ways than one) would be cathartic for the globe.

I didn't follow any of it, just what was posted here, but something doesn't ring true. How would Trump have been able to grab the wheel, or attempt to? Surely US Presidents don't sit up front with their Secret Service driver?

It’s basically an armoured limo, he could just crawl up toward the driver and grab the wheel.

If America recovers and turns back toward democracy, Cassidy Hutchinson will be a national hero and her popularity will skyrocket as someone who "stood up to Trump". She could be President one day.
If America continues its spiral to authoritarianism, she might be one of the first to be sent to the gulags in Alaska.
On one hand, it's fascinating watching what is happening in America. A democracy that's lasted 200+ years is disintegrating. OTOH, it's scary as hell to see the most powerful country, who happens to be on our doorstep, fall toward a weird Christian-fascism authoritarian state.

He was in the back seat of an SUV.
Pretty easy to lunge up between the seats.
Anyone who is focusing on "How did he grab the steering wheel" is willfully focusing on something trivial so they don't have to acknowledge the rest of the INCREDIBLY DAMNING story.

Yeah, someone else said this many, many pages ago and it is frightening how 'on the nose' it was.
But 'The Handmaids Tale' was supposed to be cautionary, not an instruction manual.

Yeah, it'd be nice if we'd stop lionizing the people who enabled and conspired with Trump up until that point. Same goes for the "moderate" Republicans, such as Cheney, who have been pushing voter fraud/voter ID narratives for years. They have blood on their hands, too.
