A Quarterback that can get up on his toes and accurately time and throw the corner will be feared by every DC out there.

For an OC, a QB that can throw a deep corner completely opens up the passing game.

For a defensive back the corner route is next to impossible to cover.

Ricky Ray could make that throw all day. So could Jeff Garcia, Dieter Brock, Tommy Clements and Mike Reilly.

Winnipeg: 23600
Calgary: 22000
Montreal: 16000
BC: 10-15k tonight?

This week's attendance so far. Early returns on the first post covid restriction season attendance is scary when the league was already in huge trouble from missing action. They needed attendance to come back in a major way and it simply isn't.

And watching on TV and highlights, the butts in seats is much, much lower than these announced numbers.

Winnipeg and Calgary were usually good for 26-30k most nights and were two of the strength markets for league attendance. I knew Montreal had decreased from their hey day but 16k? Yikes.

BC looks to be in huge trouble, but at least their owner is making major attempts to right the ship and get fans back out. Calgary historically hasn't done that and I have zero hope they'll do it now. "We'd rather make 250k off of 22k seats then 245k off of 30k seats at lower prices with future fans and families picking up the game and staying fans because we're simple, old school business thinking morons".

Yep, that's the issue. We're their bread and butter. Hamilton has been pretty good with their new stadium being pretty packed most nights even though it's lower capacity (about 25000) in recent years.

That last game against Calgary was announced 22700 but they messed something up, gave away thousands of tickets or just fudged their numbers as the entire upper tier on one side was empty (looked like about 5000+ seats), the other upper tier was half full and the lower sections were about half full.

There was not more 12000 people in that stadium and that may be generous.

So that Nathan Rourke guy is pretty good, eh? Actually both their offence and defence have been good, not sure why Rourke was still on the field in the fourth quarter (unless it was specifically to get the record) but I’m glad it worked out.

Lions play Winnipeg in week 5, that could be a good one.

Boy the Lions sure are a surprise. I figured they would finish last in the West but they look like the best team in the CFL through the opening three weeks. Rourke looks fantastic and it will be interesting to see how long he can maintain this pace. I feel the Elks weren't prepared to play the opener and I don't believe the Argos are very good so they will be tested more in the coming weeks.

It's early but it's looking like the East division has reverted back to its old ways of being bad as it would be a surprise of any of the teams finish with a winning record.

what impressed me about Bo was his movement out of the pocket, he wasnt just a statue back there. nice to see him move the pocket and make plays happen.

Just want to echo what is being said a out Rourke. Guy looks amazing and it's not just his throwing, it's his running, his read of the defence. He's dismantling defences right now and keeping them off balance. it's really impressive.

Also good to see Bo playing better and I agree he looks way better when pushed out of the pocket. He just needs more consistency.

The CFL being a gate driven league, attendance really is a concern especially when you start seeing historically strong teams like Calgary/Edmonton staggering.

Was in Vancouver for a bachelor party this weekend and went to the Lions game last night. Definitely not close to the crowd they had in Week 1 which was too bad. Rourke is a stud, exciting for the league to have that kind of star to market.

Only downside to the Lions win last night is the news that Bryan Burnham suffered some broken ribs and is expected to miss several weeks.

Good article on the biggest story in the CFL so far: https://www.tsn.ca/dave-naylor-bc-li...1-qb-1.1817118

Interesting part for me was that BC was telling potential free agent QBs that there would be no competition and that Rourke was going to be the starter this year.

His 2 starts this season is somewhat reminiscent of Ricky Ray's first 2 starts. Granted, Rourke did have some playing time last season so it's not quite an apples to apples comparison, but he's nonetheless taken the CFL by storm. That said, he will face much stiffer competition in the coming weeks.
