Dunno about that. He’s a UFA and the Avs have a lot of roster spots to fill. Kadri, Nichuskin, Burakovsky, Keumper, Manson, Sturm, Helm, Cogliano all UFAs, and Mackinnon is only 1 year away.

Anything is possible. Remember, Iggy signed with the Bruins a couple months after blocking a trade to the Bruins.
Obviously, it all depends on what happens with Johnny, but if he decides to leave, the Flames will have money to spend.

True, but would he want to come here after vetoing a trade in the past? UFA vs a trade different anyway, but still, not sure he wants to be a Flame?

Why do people have a hard time understanding this?
Kadri tried to block a trade to ANYWHERE. He openly said he has nothing against the Flames and only did what he did because he wanted to stay in Toronto.
