100% believe what I say, otherwise what's the point of discussing this here lol. There's a fundamental difference between a miscarriage--natural cause--and the purposeful destruction of a human being.
I'm under no illusion that this landmark decision will stop all abortions like I'm under no illusion that almost all laws restricting something never results in a 100% elimination of the thing it seeks to eliminate. That said, the decision is a step in the right direction.
You probably have no issues with the post-birth abortions provided by the NRA then?

Religious men telling women when they are and are not allowed to have sex. Certainly not for pleasure. Only when the desired outcome is a baby. Welcome to America, land of the free*
religious women too, don't kid yourself. women are not united on this issue

Sure makes me ####ing glad the Federal Conservatives are still an unelectable trainwreck.
I was thinking about this last night.
A plausible strategy could be for them to just come out and say they support Roe (which banned most abortions after fetal viability) and they could stay on the fence.

I take it you'll be stepping up to the plate as a full-time foster parent then, when many of these babies are unsurprisingly put up for adoption?

There were more illegal abortions per year in the years prior to Roe vs. Wade than there are now, so the "right direction" to you is more abortions and more women dying? How does that work?
You already lied to the tune of around 20 million in regards to the number of abortions since Roe vs. Wade, so why also lie about your motivation? This doesn't protect human life, it puts it at risk, as more adult women will die trying to access unsafe abortion just as they did before Roe vs. Wade.
Why don't you care about women?
These people have pretty consistently demonstrated that only lives in the womb are important, once you're out of the womb you're a piece of #### and can die anytime.

I think the experiment is already over to a large extent. If the GOP wins the mid-terms and takes back the Senate and the Presidency in 2024, that country will very likely become a full-on authoritarian regime. Never in my life did I ever think the SC would overturn Roe, but here we are. Scary times down there.
I seriously worry about how this inevitable change will effect Canada and our 150+ year relationship with the U.S. These two countries had so much in common at one point, but not any longer. The America we once knew and loved is almost unrecognizable now.

Sure - but that's a long game. You'd need to start out in little municipal elections and slowly rig the deck in your direction (while avoiding getting stuck in the mud on issues like renaming schools every 3 weeks) like the Republicans have done. Its taken them like 30-40 years to get to this point.

Why, why, why, why is it that most of the people who are against abortion are people you wouldn’t want to #### in the first place, huh?
Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren’t they? They’re all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you’re born, you’re on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don’t wanna know about you. They don’t want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no Head Start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you’re pre-born, you’re fine; if you’re preschool, you’re ####ed.
Conservatives don’t give a #### about you until you reach military age. Then they think you are just fine. Just what they’ve been looking for. Conservatives want live babies so they can raise them to be dead soldiers. Pro-life, Pro-life. These people aren’t pro-life, they’re killing doctors! What kind of pro-life is that? What, they’ll do anything they can to save a fetus but if it grows up to be a doctor they just might have to kill it?
They’re not pro-life. You know what they are? They’re anti-woman. Simple as it gets, anti-woman. They don’t like them. They don’t like women. They believe a woman’s primary role is to function as a broodmare for the state.

Invasion in the name of religious freedom to be the 51st state.

Better believe there are a lot of Canadians who want us to continue having a lot in common with them. This relationship might have been good for Canada in a lot of ways, but it's also caused people to forget that the things that separate us from the US are some of the best things about this country.
Conservatives already dance around abortion with "we'll never bring it up but won't stop anyone else from doing it" nonsense and they're already trying to dismantle the healthcare system. The relationship with the US is more like an infection at this point.

Can't wait for the anti-abortion movement to ramp up in Canada as a result of this decision.
The Canadian QAnon/far right crowd is already all over it. Just like when the Russian conflict came up and you could predict they'd support Russia before their followers even knew it.

Its not the destruction of a human being, it is the destruction of a group of cells. Calling a 15 week fetus a human in insincere. It is a group of cells still being developed by the mother. It is not a living independent being, it is forming and still 100% requiring of the mother for survival.
Once you hit 24 weeks there is about a 60% chance of survival of a premature birth. At 20 weeks it is at best a 10% chance of survival. At most I could see no abortions over 24 weeks, and for the most part those laws already exist. No one is aborting 30 week fetuses unless the life of the woman is in jeopardy, and then it becomes standard triage.
Overturning Roe v Wade isn't protecting lives, it is restricting actual lives in favor of potential lives. You might as well say that masturbation is killing babies because those sperm may have one day formed a baby. At 15 weeks, there is 0 chance of that fetus surviving without the mother, therefor it isn't an independent life, but still part of the woman and her body is her choice.
This is nothing but a step backwards for religious zealots who want to control women. It has nothing to do with protecting life, this endangers life.

Oh I agree. But no time like the present to start. Anyone who believes just voting in more Democrats is going to solve these issues is out of their god damn minds.
