Yeah that was a strange Cooper presser. Seemed to be about to say the game was taken away from them, then stopped himself and said he'll speak about it tomorrow.
Sportsnet is speculating TB felt there was too much colorado man on the ice for the goal.... Had a still of an Avs player going off to equal six players.
Lightning potentially getting f'ed on a call on the ice in an SCF? How's it taste lightning? It was in.

Yeah, it's too many men.
You can see 5 Avs in that screen cap (1 skating off, 2 in the middle of the ice, and 2 at the bottom of the screen), but there's also a d-man back in the zone as well as the goalie.

Yeah, that player at the bench is the 6th guy on the ice and he doesn't appear to be replacing anybody remotely close to him. So yeah it was probably too many men, but if he replaced the Colorado player at the centre ice logo then neither were involved in the play I guess.
Either way, you won't see that called in the Stanley Cup Finals and especially not in OT.

Still Cooper was acting like it was the biggest blown call in league history

The complaint is too many men should have been called because there are two D to the left of that picture and for some time too while that guy is heading off. I think it’s still a tough call because he’s really just doing a lazy change, it would be interesting to see who jumped off for him, I can’t see it being Kadri because he’s to far from the boards when he gets the partial break. I don’t know.

There are 6 guys on the ice in that shot and the only guy near the bench is going off...they must have six guys on the ice for a while. Wish they would rewind 3 seconds or so...but it's not like the guy coming on is anywhere near the bench
Cooper may have a point but it's a tough call when the Avs player is behind their own net away from the play
