Looks like the Jets are closing in. I wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement next week on an off day

There is a rumour that Trotz could end up being the manager of the Predators.

He was also interviewed by the Panthers recently.

I feel like any Jets offer would come with a management role as well and potentially long-term security in his home province. Would be tough to turn down.

But Nashville is intriguing. And you wonder how much longer Poile will be there.

Nashville also potentially under new ownership. That’s maybe not a selling point - who knows.

I suspected he might take a year off. He’s being paid anyway, after all.

Sounds like he's not in a rush and willing to wait for a better position. Sucks for the Jets as they really need a good veteran head coach that can sort out the locker room issues.

Ouch, that's got to sting.

Maurice basically fires himself. When does that ever happen?
Scheifele is apparently a turd.
PLD basically says I'm out of here first chance I get.
Then Trotz says thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather sit around and wait for a better opportunity than coach the Jets in Winnipeg, and he's from there.

Yikes.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before the Jets had SERIOUS issues attracting talent

Calgary/Edmonton is one thing...Winnipeg is like another planet

Could see the Jets trying to save face and hire a “big name” in Babcock.

Tough when Trotz appeared to be interviewing for other roles but then said no when Winnipeg actually offers the job.

I mean, they've had issues since day 1.. for that very reason even while being a competitive team.

A the coyotes fan #### talking the Jets organization is so thick with irony, you could spread it over bread.
