I couldn't see Miller being part of the problem. Issues always arise when the leadership group is really young. It's why I've never been a fan of the Tkachuk for captain talk.

Pettersson and Hughes should not have As or Cs in Vancouver.

It's never good to look for leadership from known toxic players as well.

Look in Edmonton. They elevated McDavid way to quickly to a leadership role, when leadership is not an on-ice skill. Same with Draisytl. And then they made the mistake of bringing in vocal players like Kassian, Smith, Neal and Kane. They are not good rolemodels.

Not identifying leadership properly has been a major hindrance in Edmonton. They tried to correct it with Keith and Ryan, but I think that their voices are drowned out.

Vancouver needs more Millers, not fewer.

Don’t know if Miller is a problem or not

But he is an upcoming UFA so it maybe convenient to trade him to shake things up

Miller is likely getting moved in the offseason because he's not been shy about the fact that he's going to the highest bidder next offseason.

If the Canucks can barely challenge for a playoff spot their chances of challenging for a cup with this roster is near impossible. They just aren't very good and that isn't going to change in the next year. Right now the Canucks have a few good pieces and a lot of mediocrity. They have no real young players on entry level contracts who are able to step in and perform and very weak organizational development having never really graduated a player of any substance from the farm team since Chris Tanev.

From afar, they have 2 top 6 centers in petterson and horvat, decent wingers in Miller, boeser, a top pairing d in Hughes, and a solid starter in demo.

Either the depth forwards and d are really THAT bad o r maybe at least a few of the above noted core guys are overrated.

Although they have a potential legit 1D in Quinn Hughes, rest of their defense is weak. Weaker than the Flames or even Oilers D

Even Hughes isn't a traditional #1 D. Elite offensively but the rest of his game needs a lot of work. He needs to be with the right partner.
As with so many Canadian teams they really effed up by trying to accelerate opening up their contention window.

Well something doesn't add up

Canucks have so many amazing players yet 10th place...and even then the goalie stole half or more of those wins

It's going to be real interesting to see what the canucks do next season.

I'v e tjought for a while now that they have many of the key pieces in place to be a contender, but they were always falling short. Then they finally fired Green and brought in Boudreau and they had a really strong second half.

Next year, if they don't take that next step finally, they probably never will. Big year for them IMO

I think it's a fair comment.

Hughes is good offensively, but isn't a very good defenseman. He isn't a #1. But he has been anointed a #1 and handed the role. That's one of the biggest problems with the team, IMO. The defense is awful, starting with him being put in the wrong role.

I dont think it's a coincidence that Hughes was better with Tanev and that effect has now helped Kylington.

Exactly why I think the flames should trade Kylington while his value is high and put Tanev with Mackey

It's no mystery that putting a rookie with a vet is beneficial. Also that pairing a defensive and offensive defender is a good idea.

Don’t agree with trading Kylington at all

We need more speed, not less

CAR giving Bear permission to talk to other teams.

EDM should have given Nurse the same courtesy...

I wonder what kind of money Bear is looking for. Would be fun to watch him excel on the Flames.

Flames are pretty solid on the right side.
