Going to a third set in Den Bosch as Tim van Ritjhoven won the opening set 6-3 but Felix responded with a fine second set taking it 6-1

3rd set tie-break needed to decide this match.
Edit: No bueno for Felix, saved two match points, couldn't save the third.

Tim van Ritjhoven takes the title in Den Bosch defeating Medvedev 6-4 6-1. A Dutch treat if you will.

First a hip issue and now it looks like an abdominal strain on the other side. Andy Murray continues to play on in Stuttgart, though.
Edit: The guy sponsored by Boss wins the Boss Open as Berrettini is triumphant in his return to the tour. 6-4 5-7 6-3 over Andy Murray. I hope Murray is okay and will be able to play at Wimbledon.

Alright, WTF happened here. Dude is 25 and under .500 on the Challenger tour and has never won an ATP match and suddenly he's got a match point to bagel the world #1 after taking out the world number 9 and 14?
Is this a faustian deal situation or what the hell?

I didn't see today's match, but I watched yesterday's against Felix and the Dutch dude has a big serve and nice groundies (including a one-handed backhand). He also beat Taylor Fritz earlier this week, so I'm not sure if this is just catching lightning in a bottle, but I thought Felix played quite well yesterday, but was too tentative in the 3rd set tie-break. TVR kept his foot on the gas and was aggressive and deserved his win over FAA.

I mean I agree with your assessment, big serve, decent ground strokes, a pretty well disguised and effective drop shot and an occasionally lethal slice... so where did all THAT come from? If he had this type of game you'd think we'd at least have heard of him. It's like Vandezandschlup again but doubly so. I'm starting to think they have some sort of magic tennis genie locked in an attic somewhere in Rotterdam.
Anyway, Bianca's playing tomorrow for the first time in a while. I really hope she can get some momentum in this tournament. She's headed for Pliskova in R2, but Pliskova hasn't beaten a quality opponent since about November, so there's a path available. I think the only way for her to get a seed at Wimbledon is to win the whole thing.

Today for the first time since 2003! A member of the big 3 isn't ranked in the top 2
Medvedev and Zverev are ranked 1 & 2 now. However Djokovic and Nadal will be ranked 1 & 2 at Wimbledon

Also earlier today, the basher from Georgia upsets #3 seed Andrey Rublev 7-6 6-4. Felix plays Giron on Tuesday.

Bianca prevails in a hard-fought match 6-4 4-6 6-4 over Siniakova and will indeed face Pliskova in round 2.
