Nadal said he is going to try play Wimbledon, if he does he would be the #2 seed and won't have to face Djokovic until the finals.

I know he "only" has 2 Wimbledon titles but he made 5 finals in a row losing to Federer in 2 and Djokovic in 1. He also missed 2009 due to injury, so he might have won 3 considering he won in 2008 and 2010.

I just want to know when the Iga is playing next so she can continue the streak. As far as I know there are no 1000s and only one 500 (Berlin) before Wimbledon, and there's Valencia but that's a 250 so I'm assuming she won't bother with that.

I just checked the entry list for Berlin and it's going to be a stacked 500 including Iga, Osaka, Gauff, and Bencic. Bianca is going to be there as well.

If Djokovic wins Wimbledon this year, would you consider him the greatest grass court player of all time? He would have 7 titles and 3 of them were in finals against Federer and 1 against Nadal.

I don't know, it sure would be interesting to see peak Sampras vs. peak Djokovic at Wimbledon. Pete also regrets sticking with his Pro Staff 85 as long as he did, does he win more slams if he would have switched to a larger frame?

no, Fed has 19 grass titles, 8 of which are SW19. Novax has 7 grass titles total.

Pete stands at 10 on grass, for reference.

an interesting thought experiment would be what the win counts would be if there was exactly equal number of tournaments on all 3 surfaces. grass certainly suffers from lack of opportunity as it is.

Novax is a long way from being anywhere near the top of the board in terms of grass players. Personally, I don't see his game being currently at a level where he should be in the conversation this year either, but there is not a high level of competition in this field right now.

It will be a shame if he wins this year with possibly no legitimate threat to challenge him as a top seed without the Russians, Zverev (possibly Nadal if he could even make the QFs with his health) Federer or a fully healthy Berrettini. You'd like to think Alcaraz might be in the conversation to knock Novax off, but I highly doubt the kid is ready to adjust to the pressures and tactics needed to come through the second week of Wimbledon yet.

Felix should be licking his chops as he has a great opportunity (depending on the draw of course) to match or even surpass last year's success this go-around at Wimbledon.

Last year Shapo outplayed Novak at Wimbledon but didn't have the nerve to close it out at the end of the first two sets. Im hoping for big things from both Canadians this year, I'm predicting one makes the finals.

It's a shame we will never see Sampras against the Big 3, I think he would have more than held his own on hard court and grass.

Genie is into the Wimbledon main draw (assuming she's ready to play and that shoulder is healed)

I wish Zverev a speedy recovery. I also hope to see him continue to lose important matches double-faulting at crucial times.

It seems to be raining everywhere in Europe at the moment. Shapo is in Stuttgart and Felix is in the Netherlands and both of their matches were postponed today. Let's try again on Thursday.

Is this where I come in and say grass is dumb and the Gods agree?

lol - Well, if it is lightly raining, you can still continue to play on the clay and it's not the same for grass and hard courts. The grass season is the shortest compared to clay and hard courts, but it also is where Denis and Felix might also have their best chance at winning a slam.

You think so? I find more randomness with grass. For example there are plenty of big servers on the tour and if they run into one of them in the early rounds on grass, it could be tiebreaker roulette. You draw a Cressy or Opelka or Krygios, half your game it taken our of your hands. Also, there aren't enough reps on grass to get good at it.

Plus fitness isn't as much a factor as the grind on clay and hardcourts. I think Felix's first slam will be in New York.
