i don't know why teams bitch and moan about things like this Kane hit and do nothing about it. They know that the DPS is going to give the guy one game, so call up a couple idiots from the minors and let them run McDavid or Draisatl. When the DPS or league decide to give them more games as punishment just turn around and sue the league and the NHLPA because they have tons of examples of what the suspension precedent has been set at.

If you have guys like Manson and MacDermid just tell them to fix the issue themselves.

So I took a break from interneting this afternoon. I head on over to Facebook this evening and I see the announcement and I look at the comments.

Well, that was dumb.... So many Oiler fans are so upset that Kane got suspended because Kadri took a dive. Apparently Kane didn't hit Kadri or Kadri can't take a hit like a man, or it is a nothing play and Kadri lost an edge or there should have been dozens of suspensions because the Oilers were at the receiving end of these types of hits all playoffs.

How stupid do you have to be to believe that crap?

The funny thing is if he wins his grievance that is exactly what will happen, I am sure they will buy it out though.

Better yet, reinstate his contract and transfer it to Edmonton.

Smug little pr*** woodcroft doesn’t think Kane would or should get a suspension when asked before the decision was made. Of course he wouldn’t. And openly calling mackinnon’s play a slewfoot, repeated by Spector the media puppet. I hope this trash franchise gets swept and spend the summer crying about it.

I’ve never disliked a coach so much… I feel like I’d feel the same if he was in Columbus. What a smarmy ######.

He hasn't earned the right to be as smug as he is as he's been riding a bit of a wave of good fortune since taking over as Oilers head coach. It will be interesting to see how he handles things next season when they go on a losing slide and the heat gets turned up.

One game suspension for Kane is a joke.
I hope the series ends tonight. But if I was a Colorado fan, I’d be worried about the effect of all their long term injuries to Kadri, Burakovsky, Girard, and Kuemper on their chances in the remainder of the playoffs.

Yup, he's basically just been riding the coattails of McGenerational. His entire coaching strategy appears to be: let's throw McDrai out there every 2nd shift and every PP (for the full 2 minutes each time) and try to outscore our problems.

Wow, impressive coaching there, Jay.

He is the perfect coach to represent that team though in that he is constantly whining to the refs and the media. I have never seen a coach in all my years of watching hockey that whines more to the refs whenever he doesn't like something.

The League gave the Oilers as much of a break as they could with Kane. They couldn't get away with a fine. So they suspend him for one game and hope the McDavid story carries on.

Based on how Kane had played the game before, its pretty clear that his job is to injure Avs players.

The best way to analyze said hit is to remember the acronym: WWCMD

If McBaby was hit the same way into the boards, you can bet it would of been 5+ a game.
You can bet it would be a lengthy suspension on whomever hit him.
You can bet the media would be calling for the perps head on a stick.
You can bet Ron Mac would bedside @ the hospital.

Cant wait to see the ventriloquist Woodcroft crying to the homer media after a sweep tonight, blaming the suspension as why they lost.

If Mavi was hit like that with broken hand or wrist, the player would be done in the nhl. And we would get another tv special.

Remember the player from Philadelphia that hit Mavi? Eventually, oilers traded for him then buried him in the minors.

I don’t think that a parliamentary investigation would be enough.

If the nhl wants to get better (narrator’s voice: it doesn’t) it would treat all players equally regardless of team, situation, or who hit or got hit.

Edit: Brandon Manning had a cap hit of $2.25 but now plays for Straubing Tigers in Germany. That’s how much a Mavi broken clavicle is worth.
