Depp will not be able to collect on the judgement. She'll probably either declare bankruptcy or more likely will appeal to reduce what she owes. Her lawyers don't get paid unless she wins something after all.

Isnt Depp worth something like $150M? And yeah, Heard is broke, he'll never see a dime.
I'm not sure the money was the point for him, but it probably was for Heard.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
"To prove prima facie defamation, a plaintiff must show four things: 1) a false statement purporting to be fact; 2) publication or communication of that statement to a third person; 3) fault amounting to at least negligence; and 4) damages, or some harm caused to the person or entity who is the subject of the statement."
Celebrities and people in public office have a 5th requirement, as they also have to prove the defamatory statements were made with actual malice.
For the record, the jury found in favour for all 5 of those requirements (including malice) in each of the three counts of defamation brought against Heard by Depp.
Sure, but the standard is still not as high as a criminal trial.
I'm not even sure defamation is a tort.
Where was the trial held, since state laws vary so much.
Regardless, I'd just rather throw them all into the sun.

Best part is she needs to pay the court the full amount owed before she's allowed to appeal in the state of Virginia. So unless ex-boyfriend Elon or some new schmuck ponies up for her, there's no appeal coming.
The conversation around this trial has made me really uncomfortable, as even though it's clear Heard did lie about pieces of her testimony, the fallout feels deeply rooted in misogyny.
Cant speak for the public, who will make often rash blanket judgments, but for me its nothing about Heard being female.
She has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and there appears to be some definite crossover with traits of Narcissism there.
My sister shares a lot of similarities with Heard (going off the various phone call clips and recordings made available) so I'm quite familiar with what kind of havoc that type of person can inflict on people around them.
That particular person with those traits victimizes (probably often unbeknownst to them) any person around them that exhibits weakness. They'll stir up drama and be volatile at the drop of a hat, sometimes for no apparent reason. They're an emotional rollercoaster to be around, and are often reckless. Whatever damage that inflicts on people around them doesn't or rarely will register to them as something they need to be remorseful for, and they may internally justify those things with reasons that serve only them.
How much can you fault the person for as just them being a #####y person and how much can you put on deficiencies in their personality? Hard to say. Heards problems appear to be very deeply rooted.
But given the nature of her personality disorder its VERY easy on the surface to chalk it up to utter selfishness, if you assume that the person has control and awareness of their faculties.
She's certainly made herself with her dishonesty out to be someone who is very difficult to empathize with from afar.
Except to people within feminist/feminist movement circles, it appears.
Have to keep in mind Depp isn't some hero for coming out in top. The system merely deemed his case against Heard to be justified.
Society really needs to quit extrapolating these things beyond what they are. But such is the world we live in now.. everything has some kind of grander implication where some group loses and another wins and half the population has to take it personally (eyeroll).

I stopped reading the article as it appears the author is using Heard’s testimony as the only source they’re basing their position on. She demonstrated very clearly during the trial that she is not credible.
I don’t know what everyone else’s views are on the outcome but mine is that I’m just happy to see someone who was clearly trying to sabotage someone’s life for their own gain not get away with it. I don’t care that Johnny “won”, I care that Amber didn’t get away with it.
I feel bad for Amber, not because she was a victim of Johnny’s, but because her condition is going to ruin her life and career if it hasn’t already. Do some research on BPD, she can’t help what she’s doing and I won’t be surprised to see her continue to double down on her claims because of it.
