Did anyone see if Nurse tipped the shot on the Avs' third goal? It looks to me in the replay on NHL.com that the shot was just tipped by the blade of Nurse's stick.

Just watched condensed version of the game on PVR. Any particular reason the Kane elbow wasn't replayed after the commercial break or commented on? Just a quick view of it while they went to commercial.
If that was anybody on Mcdavid there would be at least five replays from six different angles. But an oiler did it so no big deal.
Awww, oilers and smitty upset because the Avs still played when it was 5 on 3? They actually took a shot on net? How dare they. This from the team who would be up by four or five with a couple minutes left and put on the Mcpowerplay just to pad stats. What a bunch of babies.
Figured I'd try my hand at wading through the salt mines, with a tip of the hat to Gaskal

Spoiler!
Could Reality Actually Be Beginning to Set In With this Fanbase?

We made an absolute f***ery of this game. Holy f*** we were bad
Quote:
Completely outclassed. That team is just better...
Quote:
Looks like the Oilers blew their wad on the Flames.
Quote:
Absolute dog#### effort from pretty much everyone.
Quote:
Do we even win a game against them? It's hard to say yes. This might be one of the most lopsided conference finals in years.
Quote:
Complete and utter domination. 12 goals against in 2 games…yikes.
Quote:
Didn't even look like we belonged out there tonight...
Quote:
We are getting absolutely crushed in the star player vs star player matchups. Very low bar, but Smith was our best player tonight, no one else gave much of an effort after the first period.
Quote:
Better team won. Plain and simple.
Quote:
Think it was too important to beat the flames. They have nothing left in the tank, including Mcdrai
Quote:
Winning the first round was required, winning the second round was a nice change of pace. Winning a game against Colorado would require a miracle.
Quote:
The Avs are a great team playing very, very well; the Oilers are a slightly above average but deeply flawed team playing terribly
Quote:
1-Probably wouldn’t catch so much flak if they weren’t a bunch of babies that whine any time a Divealanche gets touched.
2-You know we do the exact same thing right?
Quote:
Lost to the better team--no question about it.
Quote:
Another pathetic result where they didn't show up, yet again. Barely bailed water in the first and then magnificently caved. Top players look disinterested and unmotivated.
Quote:
Avs are on another level. They are better than us in every area.
Quote:
If the Avs are good enough to limit the Oilers to 2 chances and 7 shots in 34 minutes than the Boys should just surrender now.
Quote:
Oil are done. Exposed by a superior Colorado team.
Quote:
The Avalanche are what we wish the Oilers were sadly.
Quote:
Not sure how people were talking about a split. This series is showing ample indication of being a walkover. AV's have had 4 goal leads in both games. Thats a f***ing throttling.
Quote:
They are the high flying super dangerous team that plays the up tempo offensive game the Oilers do. They just have more star players, more depth and do it better.
Quote:
Ultimately, the Avs are better than we are or will ever be in the foreseeable future.
Quote:
The AV's scored more goals in this game then we had scoring chances. I mean this was absolutely being shutdown
Quote:
The compete from every avalanche player is way above the Oilers. And than they have skill.
Quote:
1-Game is 4-0. The main source of the goals against is our D. How is Smith the main takeaway from this game?
2-He never is, he always blaims others!
Nope, still delusional...
Quote:
Can we play one game against this team without the Zebras gifting them momentum?
Quote:
There’s a bit of a difference when fans at an arena whine when their team never gets calls vs one where their team that has had the most PP opportunities for the past 5 years. It’s called entitlement.
Quote:
should have just kept McDrai together. Remember when Tipp tried breaking them up and every time our offense dries up. Also need to continue to play more physical, Avs look like a softer team than us. They whine and complain every time they get hit.
Quote:
My point is the Oilers still don’t get nearly enough calls for.
Quote:
Cant tell me that reffing didnt kill momentum this game. We were playing way better and getting clutch and grab, interference all 1st period, only powerplay was a obvious chop to draisatls neck.
Quote:
How about chanting #### about the refs after they just had a 1 and a half minute 2 man PP. Something we've see like what? 3 times all season. They got two in one game against us. The refs also chose to ignore about 8 blatant penalties the Avs committed in the first.
Quote:
Yeah, I think they drew 3 calls just by grabbing their faces after hits. Another one or two skating over our guys skates. I f***ing hate this f***ing Avs team. All the calls when we're actually taking it to them, then come the even ups when we're out of it.
Takes One to Know One, I guess
Quote:
1st in penalties drawn for the past couple of years, but it makes sense why when you see MacKinnon diving like he's auditioning for the 2011 Vancouver Canucks Olympics roster.
Quote:
I hate being the guy who always blames the refs. But it's indefensible that we're leaving that first down 0-3 in PP attempts. There were about 8 blatant penalties and the ones that were called against us were f***ing bull####. We were actually in that game, seemed like the refs sensed that the boys needed something to turn the tide and called the Yamo penalty on a play that happens 80 times a game that doesn't get called

Has there ever been a fan base that blames the officials more than the Oilers? When they lose it's always the officials fault. They were outclassed in that game and their thugs were undisciplined.

Well, when the only way your team can win is on the backs of the officials, if they aren't calling it for you, they are clearly against you.
How does that saying go again? Something like: When you are accustomed to privilege, lack of it feels like oppression.
