It was picked up by a couple Edmonton media (Bruce McCurdy) and even if it was just a Canucks journalist, they do cross at Vancouver.
Not sure why this may discount it.

The refs won't let them play though.
NHL will want a long series. Look for abrupt changes in reffing standards if a team takes, or looks to take a multi game lead (aka COL).
This series will reek so hard of meddling from above, can already smell it.
