Some spoilers…
- The initial chase scene when Leia was captured was a bit ridiculous. It looks like she is running slow… why can’t they catch her?
- So Obi Wan knew Anakin was Darth Vader… but didn’t have the heart to tell Luke? I guess I kinda always figured this was the case… I always assumed Obi Wan knew Anakin alive for some reason.
- I forget the actors name… I didn’t like the fake Jedi comedy angle. Seemed to be a bit sloppy. The acting seemed to be a bit unpolished. Comedy seems out of place in Star Wars. This isn’t the MCU.
- Vader needs more screen time! He needs to be the big bad… who cares about the inquisitors
- the Jedi that died on Tatooine… how did he find Obi Wan? Did they already know each other?
Overall I think this will continue to improve, was just hoping for a bit more of a hook in the first two episodes.

I get why they're doing the comedy. You want your series to appeal to today's audience and they're used to the little gags you get in MCU films.
But it was a little off-brand for star wars. Lucas always had a pretty grown up and serious tone to his films despite wanting to appeal to children too (which he tried to do thru characters like Jar Jar). The comedy here is miles better than what Lucas employed, but in that scene in particular it just felt out of place. At the same time, I didn't think it spoiled anything that was going on there. Just seemed unnecessary to do the fake jedi trick skit which came across like a big, forced wink to the fans. Better to put the screen time elsewhere.

I had this chat with my buddy RE: Star Wars humour. The original had a special touch of humour that was mostly added by Ford and Fischer with their great chemistry and better dialogue. Particularly Han Solo’s outsider “WTF is going on here?” persona helped bring the audience in. They don’t really have that anymore, instead relying on jokes more than humorous character.

I always assumed that Obi Wan knew who Vader was the whole time. He had gotten to a point psychologically where he referred to both himself and Vader as new people, with the previous personas dead. Hence that "Obi won Kenobi? There's a name I haven't heard....." line.
Wouldn't it have been common knowledge that Vader was Anakin? Otherwise you'd have to assume that the Emperor just had some other ultra powerful force just apprentice instantly, who also had a much of robot parts and a breathing machine.

Obi-Wan knows Anakin was Vader. He didn’t know Vader was still alive.
In the canon very few people know Vader’s true identity. I believe it’s Yoda, Obi-Wan, Palpatine, Tarkin, and now apparently Reva and that’s it? Might have missed one but Vader’s true identity is unknown to pretty much everyone.

Sorry. Should have made it clear. I was referring to the time period around a New Hope. I'm assuming, at that point, all the high level surviving Jedi would know that Anakin is Vader.

Since there were really only two high level Jedi Yoda and Ben, yeah. Mainly because they both saw Sidious talking to Anakin as Lord Vader.
Ben didn't know that Vader was alive though. I doubt there were many available news channels to Tattoine, and Obi didn't have a 60 inch plasma TV at home.
I don't think that Sidious ever made it public that Anakin was Vader. Tarkin deduced it in the book Tarkin. Probably some of the surviving Clones that went with Anakin to the temple know that Anakin is Vader. But even Vader didn't promote it, the name Anakin Skywalker had no meaning to him.
I didn't like that Reva knew and was shouting that Anakin was Vader and still alive. I think it would have been better if Obi found out right at their first confrontation.
In the EU book Rise of the Dark Lord, Ben found out early on Tattoine. Bail Organa probably does know that Anakin is Vader though. He was at the Jedi temple that night

I'm guessing that Reva knew Anakin from their time in the temple. I'm also assuming that Vader recruited her on a side mission to bring Kenobi to him which is why she ignored the Grand Inquisitor's orders to forget about Kenobi.

Little girl a little too much screen time. Young Jedi on the run was more interesting - sad it ended offscreen for him.
Timeline is wierd? Those kids have 10 years to grow into Luke and Leia, but Obi Wan and Uncle Owen are going to be in their 70’s by then?
Villians were okish, but the stunts for the street top chase were so poorly done and cheap…
Hope I’m wrong and it improves, but ATM it feels like Boba Fett writers trying to be funny, and balance Obi-wans brooding (boring) screentime with ooodles of “plucky kid bests adults yet again!”. Very episode 1.
Even had a Jar Jar with the fake jedi dude.
Meh for me. Hope it turns.
Not their fault, but to open with a school shooting was hard to watch. Affected me, and may have soured the well. I acknowlege this.

so far this show doesn't look quite as cinematic as I'd hoped for a trilogy main character, but it's still miles above Boba. Deborah Chow is ok, but I think they should have given the keys to Bryce Dallas Howard based on her Mando work during Boba. at least the feel will be consistent for the whole series since they're not rotating through a mishmash of directors like the other shows.
Reva having Force Mind Hack could be a bit problematic, depending on who's actually capable of doing it or not. if Inquisitors in general have that capability, then Flea got chopped to bits for no reason. in fact, any traditional interrogation is completely pointless if you can just pull info out at any time like R2 plugging into a computer.
speaking of which, Haja's plot armor is pretty damn thick if he can actively interfere with Reva and walk away unscathed. some poor rando lost a hand earlier just for mumbling something mildly defiant.

Far from perfect. Haja was quite annoying. They could also easily do more to make the inquisitors seem more menacing. Really liked flea.

Great plot choices all around with this one.
very successfully feels a piece with the Original Trilogy, the Prequels, the Clone Wars/Rebels and the Mandoverse.
So much work to ground you in Obis sense of defeat from the originals
Pulling Obi into a rescue of Leia does a lot to explain who he was to her and why she would call him for help.
His interactions with Uncle Owen put you right back in the frame of the opening scenes of Star Wars and where Luke had to come from to defeat the empire.
The Inquisitors, The Clone Veterans... just tells you visually the cartoons really do count.
As a piece of Narrative continuity it's just wonderful, but I still think there s lots of work to do, to land the ship on this series and put all of the pieces back where they need to be.

It was fine so far, it’s nice to see Ewan Macgregor in the role again more than anything.
Moses Ingram can’t act, she’s almost comically non-threatening. Like she’s just spitting out dialogue trying to be super intense and making mean faces and it is not definitely not working. Show needs to pivot to Vader as the big bad quick.
I think a lot of the episodes are just lacking tension and intensity in general - lots of standing around, walking around and talking about how urgent situations are but you don’t really feel it. I laughed when Leia fell off the top of that building and Obi-Wan almost immediately popped out from around the corner. Like damn he got down from the roof fast!
Very lucky for them the automated cargo ship that never has life forms aboard just happens to have full life support.
Anyways some nit picks, I did enjoy it but it’s definitely feeling more Boba Fett and less Mando right now. Still time to turn into something more interesting though.

Good start. I like that he isn't a super hero off the bat, he's been out of the game teaching himself to not act like a Jedi for 10 years.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who found the acting absolutely horrible from the female villain. It is almost painful to watch.
But overall I liked it and am looking forward to more.

The Grand Inquisitor is awesome and the actor does a great job conveying the evil of the character.
My two problems with the show are Reva? (Third Sister) and when the thugs are chasing little Leia. Third Sister is not scary or intimidating at all - seems boring actually. The Grand Inquisitor already seems more bad ass than Kylo Ren (lol).
Obviously Leia is force sensitive but the foot chase seemed ridiculous. Four grown ass men should be able to overtake a 10 year old in about 3 strides.
Everything else about the show is great. The slow burn is a metaphor for Obi Wans reluctance to take up any sort of fight. He considers himself, and the Jedi, defeated.

Obviously no one here has chased after little kids. Because they can outrun any adult.

Yeah the chase was weird with Leia, but I guess she was on her home turf and she's tiny enough to run under objects. But that could have been better.
Third sister is not a typical Inquisitor. I mean for the most part the Inquisitors were former jedi who were either tortured into joining, or fell to the Dark side to simply survive, or were promised power and their lives. So they don't hold the grudge against the Jedi, they're doing their job and hoping to get noticed and get more power.
Reva though, this thing is entirely personal to her, so the reason why is going to be important.
I'm making a leap that Reva was the first youngling shown in the order 66 scene. And that she and the other younglings managed to escape and probably had a horrible life, and they probably all said the same thing. One of the masters will save us, we just need to hold on.
Maybe she watched her friends die, and saw that Obi-Wan was continually on the watch list and hoped that he would find them and save them, and he never came, and she held a grudge against him as the only surviving Jedi.
You say, what about Yoda, he survived. I'm betting that Palpatine didn't want the word getting out that the freaking Grand Master of the Jedi order was rumbling out there and kept that search a secret and probably pronounced that the little green freak and war criminal was dead.

I loved the firs two episodes and I cannot wait for more to be revealed.
There were some eye roll moments, but I could watch a whole movie/series with Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor. He was great. I agree that Reva is kind of a boring character, but I suspect she is connected with the Order 66 scene at the beginning somehow.
Also very emotional scene when Obi-Wan was telling Leia that she reminded him of someone he knew. She's as headstrong as Padme and I think it's a great character trait they've exploited with Leia.
Everything about Obi-Wan and Ewan MacGregor's portrayal was perfect. He's defeated, he's damaged, he's abandoned the force. The PTSD dreams were a great touch. This man has been through some s**t!
And please please please can there be a Qui-Gon appearance! I feel like they are setting it up. Maybe a small cameo at the end where he's finally able to connect with his Master. That would be amazing.
Overall, it's everything I wanted and I am excited and intrigued to see where it ends up.

did Padme really have that much spunk? the PT isn't fresh in my memory but the only things that come to mind are how she made the decision to head for Geonosis, and she did ok fighting the giant cat.
other than that, I don't remember her verbally shredding anyone the way Leia can. Phantom Menace she was more monotone than a droid, and RoTS she was babbling on about decorating the baby's room or how Ani was breaking her heart (and then dying of a broken heart because who the hell cares about two beautiful twin babies).
