He had been doing that the whole playoffs, normally I am not as hard on a player, but i watched him and Toffoli more than other players. To see their reads, passes and play with the puck and even away from the puck. Both were absolutely brutal.

The Oilers fans in my circle have been incredibly gracious. One talked me down from a ledge after game 4.

Guess I'm just lucky to have those people in my life.

Oiler fans clinging to anything in regards to the no goal. “Bieksa and Botterill, both who played at a high level, say it was a distinct kicking motion.”

they know deep down the league stole a game for them

Can you imagine if that called happened against the Oilers or the Leafs Vs. Anaheim or Tampa ect.

league offices would be burned to the ground

Sure the flames played 5.5 bad periods of hockey between the middle of game 2 and game 4, but there's a chance they could have come back in seven. Now we'll never know. This is the kind of series, and ending to a series, that adds to the definition of what it means to be a sports fan of a particular city and not in a good way. Like game 6 in '04, or innumerable Stampeders' Grey Cup meltdowns... we're approaching Curse of the Bambino territory here. We've seen it so many times... not that anyone cares and not that it was a low-percentage call but after that goal was disallowed I just knew it was a matter of time before it was McJesus with the dagger. In any other facet of life I'd recognize that doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is insanity, but the Flames always manage to suck me back in eventually with a promising regular season. Even losing to the Avalanche again in round 3 wouldn't have stung as much as this. I'm only middle-aged and my bar is now at one cup, just one more cup before I die.

He was awful. Truly, truly awful. In fact I’d take Jarnkrok miles before Toffoli.

all the former players on ESPN thought it was a ridiculous no goal call...they don't bow to the Rogers god

Ya, a long time buddy I used to battle with from Edmonton (in my teens) called me and was completely partial even though in years past he wasn't. Said we have a right to say that no goal was BS and said everybody at the bar in Edmonton thought that was goal. Even admitted that the League is probably catering to the Oilers and McDavid.

Tkachuk injury I am sure detailed tomorrow. Never the same after Game 3 Dallas and the fight. Like last year, more words then actions, at least in playoffs.
Johnny and Lindy fine, I guess. Hard when your linemate isn't able to keep up like that line functioned chemistry wise all season.

Dube? Need Gaskals Swiss horn to find him.
Will give credit to Backlund tonight.
Gudbranson and Zadorov pretty good..Punching above their salary all season and chewed a lot of minutes and pretty solid all series and both series.

Andersson Hanifan and Kylington were beyond terrible and played scared this whole series.

Jarnkrok, decent. Solid defensively, not sure who would've done that role of we didn't have him.

Will give Backlund credit the last few games. Played well once he had some terrible games vs Dallas.

Tanev a warrior

Toffoli looked out of gas this series, Sutter trusted him a lot in Dallas series.

Lucic and Lewis and Ritichie excellent in Dallas series and first two games this series.

Markstrom below average. Hung out to dry Game 3 and 4 though. Won us Dallas series though, people forget.

Again, anyone of these players could've easily stepped up and redeemed themselves in game 6 and or 7. We weren't playing Colorado or St L or Minnesota or Dallas...we were playing a schizophrenic team with a wild card goalie, a team and organization who are unliked, for many reasons, and on ice are a one dimensional team.

That cinderella run in capitalizing on most all Flames mistakes wasn't going to last. Lose game 6 at home and Game 7 would be a Flames blowout...but league refused to let it get to game 6.

I’d take Jarnkrok back on a friendly deal.

He was solid But had no puck luck.

The guy hadn’t played Center in years And did a good job too. He would look good on Backlunds wing IMO

FFS I still can’t believe that goal was called back. Just brutal

Sutter pounded it into them not to take penalties so i guess you have to play soft.

Some thoughts:

Sucks to lose to the Oilers but losing in the second round is a pretty common thing that happens to good teams. Not a waste of a season or anything like that. It happened to the Hurricanes last season, the Avs three years straight, and the Bruins 2 of the last 3 playoffs. Disappointing end no doubt, but making it to the final four is damn hard and we got a lot of fun hockey.

I'm worried about the future because this would be a fine growth year if the Flames weren't facing a contract crunch. It'll be very interesting to see if they can bring everyone back.

The Kylington criticism is bizarre to me. I thought he played really well overall in his first full season and playoffs. I have no doubt they will bring him back.

Hanifin and Andersson took huge strides this season but they lost the battle against superstars in this series. Hopefully they return to the playoffs next year and benefit from this experience.

Coleman should join an ass kicking contest considering he can kick with one leg

Remember last year when Mangiapane couldn’t stay on his skates. He got stronger. Both players will continue to do so.

My anger and outrage over the disallowed goal is only getting stronger with each hour that goes by.

This is the result we needed in 2015 or 2019.

It's 1:40 a.m. here, I have to work tomorrow and I'm still steaming. Maybe it ends up not mattering and they lose Saturday but they were robbed of that chance.
