It should be interesting to see what direction they go in.
I also advice anyone who likes Radiohead, or anything in that same vein, to make sure that you have picked up Thom Yorke's solo album - Eraser. Great stuff.

Danish band called Volbeat just released their sophmore album, Rock The Rebel / Meet The Devil. take some Elvis, throw in a little Metallica, and maybe a sprinkle of The Clash and that's the easiest way to describe their sound. here's a video for the lead single The Garden's Tale

Depends what he does with it, I really like some of Strapping Young Lad, his work outside of SYL however is hit or miss with me.
Behemoth's Demigod was fantastic though. Really changed their sound/style when compared with their older albums and it seems like The Apostasy will be more of the same thankfully!

Was trying to search around for a thread with some good new music info- seems I've found it.
Anyways, my selection is Ratatat. Straight fire. The whole catalogue is delicious, but here's a review of their most recent CD "Classics" from turntablelab:
R E V I E W
After we listened to about half of this new Ratatat album here in the office, The Commish leaned over to me and said: "Man, I keep waiting for a whiny indie rock male vocalist to come in! This is great!" Indeed, the duo's new is a pleasant listening experience from front to back – clean, synthy and instrumental, sounding alternately like the soundtrack to the lost level of Castlevania and… uhh, one of those video game song cover bands on Kill Rock Stars. I know you've probably seen these dudes (all bearded and indie rock) and read reviews about how they're so "infectious" and "dancey," but honestly this is just some nice ass headphone music with a steady beat and a mellow temperament. Even the single, "Wildcat(1)" (which makes me think of Eli Cash), isn't super-hype – but it's more than suitable for a little downtempo mixtape/set where you wanna add a little excitement. Tracks like "Swisha(2)" prove Ratatat's worth by swapping out any notion of danceability for a gorgeous, lush spaghetti western update. "Lex(3)" and "Tropicana(4)" show a bit of bombast for the usually restrained pair. Maybe I'm not explaining this well, or making it sound a bit boring… but it's not. For really real. A solid indie LP in a time when solid indie LPs are increasingly hard to come by. 10 tracks; 42 minutes.
That LP is not new, but they have also just released (or, rather, it has become available...) a new Remixes LP, which I'd recommend if you're into hip hop. Check out their remix of Biggie's "Party And Bull#####" on their website.

In a recent interview about producing the new Tegan and Sara album and doing his own Solo album Chris Walla mentioned that there will be a new Death Cab for Cutie album for 2008 which I am rather pumped about
Interview can be found here:http://hardtofindafriend.blogspot.co...ris-walla.html
Also from what I have read Gibbard and the rest of the Postal Service are in and out of the studio creating a new album which will probably be out before the new Death Cab album

I know there are a lot of LP haters here, but for the people who like Linkin, their new single "What Ive Done" can be heard when you open up their website. Mike Shinoda is noticably absent from the first single, kinda interesting. But, at first listen, I was like meh, but like every single LP song, it grows on you after a few listens and now I'm singing along with it. I really like it, what do the LP fans think??

yeah...Downloaded the song a few days back. It does sound like the typical song. Though after more than 5 times it really gets annoying.
I just downloaded Timbaland's CD a few days back. Very different from what I was expecting. Not a lot of hip-hop or rap beats, but flows very well. More of a clubby soundtrack. Justin Timberlake's appearances are annoying as hell, but there are a lot a rock beats on this thing which came as a surprise. Even more surprising was a feature with Elton John was really good (nice beat to go with the piano). Then there's a song called Time feat. She Wants Revenge which is also pretty good. Not a great album overall, but well assembled and different.

The best I've heard so far:
Blonde Redhead - 23
Andrew Bird - Armchair Apocrypha
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
EL-P - I'll Sleep When You're Dead
Patrick Wolf - The Magic Position
Deerhoof - Friend Opportunity
Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
Frog Eyes - Tears of a Valedictorian
The Field - From Here We Go Sublime
The National - Boxer
Menomena - Friend and Foe
It has been an amazing year already and we're only 4 months in!

I've listened to a few tracks from the album so far, the whole thing is posted on their myspace website and I'm rather dissapointed, this continue's Daniels need to be different that he did with the Disasociatives, I could understand the album being a Disacsociatives album but not a Silverchair album, will I buy the Album yes from what I've heard I'm not so sure I"m going to enjoy it. I've been a rather large and loyal Silverchair fan over the year and i wish they'd just stop trying to be different and just make a Rock album.

Here's a link to their new video for "What I've Done", the video is pretty cliche and will get boring after I see it a couple times, but the song is definitely growing on me. I really like it.

I think you are thinking of "What have you done" by Within Temptation.

The new Linkin Park Album should be quite interesting. I hear they are moving to a more rock sound, as the album was produce with the help of Rick Rubin, who some of you should know is a legendary rock music producer
I am also looking forward to Maroon 5 releasing their album in May.
