We were outplayed and probably deserved to lose that series but not like that. The league needs to explain how that call came to be.
That was brutal.

ĹMarkstrom lets in 8 less goals this series if he has a 0.900 SV%

In the end, that was a great season of Flames hockey. Shame how it ended, but amazing when you think it was basically the same roster that stunk its way across Canada the year before.
That said, some really tough decisions to make starting now. Sutter squeezed all the juice he could out of the roster and it wasn't enough to win. I think next year will need to feature some key roster changes if this team is going to step to the next level. I just hope it doesn't saddle itself with regrettable contracts in the process.
Disappointing ending (really disappointing actually) but better than I had hoped in September.
Now I'm just hoping the Avs or Bolts trounce the Oilers in humiliating fashion.

Definitely happy to win the series against our biggest rival and I felt especially offensively we deserved to win with the amount of goals we scored in the series on Markstrom. The series in general was way more offensively minded then I imagined.
I’ll be back in the off-season. I feel like we will see the B of A in more playoffs over the next few years. Take it easy CP.

Three stars in the series:
1. Referees - they never fail to make bad judgments, they are there to help the game, but most want to be part of the game. Can't wait for them to be replaced by robots.
2. Flames - we beat ourselves so we can take lots of credit for this series
3. Coilers - they hung around to collect the gifts we kept giving

If Coleman doesn't slow up he risks knocking the net off before it crosses the line. And he's got a guy pushing him from the back.
Where else is his foot going to go?

Third best goalie. Didn't Vladar play a period and let nothing in?

There will be lots of time to dissect what went wrong, lots of blame to go around.
But I literally cannot believe they overturned that goal. Just a complete and utter abomination of a call. I’ve seen referees make bad decisions at crucial and important times but that was about as bad as it gets. The NHL should be ashamed of itself if it thinks that was the correct ruling.

The Flames got rope-a-doped by that first game. After dominating the Stars apart from Ottinger they completely owned the Oilers in game one and started playing river hockey. They got sloppy and Markstrom forgot where his glove was but they won handily anyway.
Any lessons they supposedly learned went out the window when they raced out to another multi-goal lead in game two. The Oilers adapted and the Flames, particularly Markstrom, were off their game for the rest of the series. Honestly, if the Oilers had played a solid game 1 the series would still be going.

Not a lot of positives this series but I thought Backlund and Tanev did us proud. Coleman didn’t score a ton but I thought he was solid. Lindholm and Johnny showed up today, even if they were on the ice for the loss. Tkachuk, Toffoli and Bread were disappointing, and Lucic is done. Turnover machine.

I have a feeling Markstrom is dealing with a arm injury. I'd point it to the play in game 1 when Kassian jumped in the crease and came down on his blocker.

I have never ever believed or bought-in to the conspiracy theories of the past, like the Wideman effect or referees favouring one team intentionally etc, etc.
But I firmly believe there was a 100% bias towards Edmonton in that control room and they decided to jump on what little evidence they had to make a game deciding call.
Who makes the ultimate decision? Someone faceless and nameless

Just got back from the game.
Given the officiating, terribly biased media coverage and ya add in all the betting nonsense, I think I’m done with the NHL.
Just not fun anymore.
And I’m starting to really think the fix was in.

Coleman "reached out with his skate and pushed the puck into the net", was the judgment by the officials?
... That's... *checks notes*... a legal hockey play.
There will of course be no consequences.

Agree with this. He had a man draped all over him, his right foot was taken out by the goalie, plus he was falling. That's a monster effort to be in those circumstances AND kick the puck in.
That's just nothing but the NHL stepping in and managing outcomes. Gives the fans a villain to point at, but ultimately that wasn't the deciding factor in this series.
