This is really wierd to me, it almost never snows in Vancouver, usually maybe a couple days of on and off stuff but not with the frequency that it has this year, even Seattle from watching Seattle news.
Pretty bizzare stuff.

It's been a bad fall and winter around here. Huge wind and rain storms that tore off my roofing and re-aligned my satellite dishes. A few heavy snowfalls thrown in but at least no flooding and landslides like on the Lower Mainland. Looking at the news it looks like Seattle has gotten the worst of it though.
I've read that when the climate is changing, we'll get weird weather. It won't be just a gradual warming.

Vulcan did you guys get any power outages up there? In November it seemed like we had one every couple days for almost a month, it was nuts!

A couple but it's to be expected with all our big firs and cedars. I took the ferry to Comox on the day when all the other ferries were shut down. That was quit a rocking ride and on the drive to Victoria, the wind was throwing my truck all over the road.
All the power on the Island was down on the way back and it was a cold dark house when I got back home.

At least it'll put moisture in the ground for the farmers. Oughta start gettin' nice and dry for them to get some seeding done come mid April.

With the ground thawing out, spring snowfall is pretty important for farmers as the moisture soaks in instead of just running off.

Just washed my car this morning without looking at the forecast...5-10 cm of snow tonight. Calgary seems to have the same forecast.

The precipitation is expected to start as rain showers or wet snow but as conditions cool off overnight it is forecast to change over to snow particularly over the higher elevations of the Alberta foothills. Snowfall amounts between midnight and Tuesday noon could range between 10 to 15 centimetres.

Sounds like it won't hit us until after dark tonight. Or at least that's what they are saying; midnight to noon.

Well, just got home. Left airdrie around 8:45pm... and average speed on hwy 2 was about 70 km/h. Road was white and couldn't see the lanes. Nothing but dry roads with light drizzle from red deer to edmonton. Windy as hell in lethbridge of course.
