Palps won the mind/manipulation game as should be expected, but if was a straight up brawl, Mace's vaapad leaves him in chunks all over the office. this is generally accepted among SW fandom, even George acknowledged this in commentary.

I still think that Sidious was playing with Mace. I mean he basically killed off two Jedi Masters in about 2 seconds and he was in no real danger from Mace until Anakin arrived at the building. Then he took the fall, and the whole I'm too weak. To me, he was testing Anakin. I'm pretty sure if Anakin had waffled, Palps would have killed off Mace in the same way to show Anakin true power, but it would be better for Sidious if Anakin joined the Sith willingly which he did.

Snicker. I think at this point with the right amount of liquor, and being in the right mind set, the Christmas special is brilliant. I mean where else do you see.

A very stoned Carrie Fisher putting lyrics to the Star Wars scene.
Chewie's grandpa watching 3d porn.
Darth Vader demanding that every household is searched.
The introduction of Bobba Fett
A clearly embarressed Harrison Ford putting in the motions to collect a paycheck.
Luke Skywalker telling Chewies Mom to turn that frown upside down.

Rogue One is the only movie worth watching out of the Star Wars Universe.

Wut?

Rogue One is probably the best of the Disney SW feature films.

I don't love-love it, but it is undeniably solid from start to finish with lean pacing and high stakes. And has one of the best droids ever. And it ties into the saga seamlessly, unlike other films that #### on aspects of the OT.

I dunno...I found it pretty clearly hilarious.

I mean once you invoke the 'Christmas Special' it is firmly in 'joke' territory.

That Christmas Special...that was the grabbiest of cash-grabs.

Taken from the article:

Kennedy reveals that early scripts from original writer Hossein Amini were incredibly dark, and the entire show was put on hold to adjust the tone. Production was delayed from August 2020 to January 2021 to allow the show to bring in new writers and craft a sunnier story.

“We’re looking, ultimately, to make a hopeful, uplifting story,” Kennedy said. “It’s tricky when you’re starting with a character in the state that Obi-Wan would be in coming off of ‘Revenge of the Sith.’ That’s a pretty bleak period of time.

....

If there was ever a perfect opportunity for an "incredibly dark" Star Wars show.. I feel like this was it. I will reserve judgement on the show until it comes out but anytime Kennedy sticks her nose into something I cant help but roll my eyes and feel like we're getting robbed of true original storytelling. I've been really excited for this show but yeah I have to admit I've lost some enthusiasm knowing Kennedy has been involved to this degree, again.

Just like how Disney scrapped George Lucas' ideas for the sequel trilogy and a crazy Darth Maul/Darth Talon ark over three movies, with an actually useful and strong Luke Skywalker.

It might be "sunnier" but from the actual plot leaks I've seen, the current plot sounds infinitely better than the original one.

But it's too bad they couldn't maintain the dark tone with the new script. That would be pretty interesting imo.

Still excited based on what I've heard.

Hopefully that's the only adjustment that Kennedy was granted.

Agreed, I'm hoping for the best too and can't wait to see what they do with the Obi-Wan - Vader scenes in this show, and hopefully all of the Clone Wars flashbacks is belong to us

One of the changes they allegedly made was subbing out Darth Maul (I'm assuming building on the ending of Solo) to make the show Darth Vader-centric (particularly in the back half of it).

Sounds like there will be multiple Kenobi/Anakin conflicts thanks to the script changes.

I'll take that every day of the week.

Release delayed to May 27th, but we get 2 episodes instead of 1! (Likely to avoid conflicts with Celebration happening around that time).

Boo! Conflicts with the release of Top Gun 2. But I'm guessing there might not be much overlap in target audiences.

Good point.

Celebration opens on the 26th and they're apparently planning on doing a huge premiere event, so that's probably why they pushed it back. They can premiere the first 2 episodes at Celebration, then have them show up on Disney+ a few hours later.

Only one more sleep if you're planning to watch it tomorrow at 1:00am when it drops.

Having an Obi-Wan viewing party.

This isn't just TV, it's an event.
