That GWG cannot happen. I’m still in disbelief. Takes a special kind of weakness to allow Hopkins to out muscle you

Nashville fans all shared the same sentiments, that he disappears and is highly ineffective in the playoffs. Perhaps it doesn’t help that he had his best seasons as a winger and not playing centre.

He needs elite players to feed him. The Flames don’t have one outside of Johnny

The worst part about this game is the numbing acceptance I feel as a fan since 1995.

I like how Jarnkrok plays but zero production doesn't cut it. You've got to chip in a bit.
Toffoli doesn't look to be in shape but man I thought he would score some big goals for this team and balance out the scoring. Giving us three productive lines.

Need Vladar.
You have to shake something up to change the result. Only way I see a multi game comeback. You have to change something in the equation.
Don't drown your great season by stapling yourself to JM's mental woes praying he figures it out in time.
I'm sure he would be the first to tell you he hasn't earned the net again.

Toffoli started the season in Montreal shape which the whole Habs team this year looked like they spent the summer on poutines.
He was not under the conditioning regime that Sutter enforced on the Flames after the end of the last season.

I don't like to single players out because we don't know the half of it , but Toffoli has been replacement level, and combined with the bad penalty tonight, he was notable.

I may have been right about Kylington...when Tanev isn't carrying that pair he really hasn't been very good.

We forget how inexperienced Kylington is.
First playoffs in the league, as a 3/4 D, without your regular partner for a portion of it.

High Danger: 55-48 Flames
Expected Goals: 14.8 - 13.4 Flames
Goals: 20-16 Edmonton.
Save Percentage: .892 - .852 Edmonton.
Flames could win either Game 2 or Game 4 if Markstrom has a good game, instead they lost both and are now down 3-1 because of it.
When you get to the Final 8 teams in the playoffs the margins are that thin.
Panthers fans are mad at Bobrovsky and he had a .920 save percentage in the sweep…Markstrom is rocking the .850 right now.
The team can play better in front of him, and hopefully tonight was a step in the right direction. But Markstrom needs to really get his act together because he’s the reason they are down right now.
|
Yep. This series loss is gonna be on Markstrom not doing his job. It's really disappointing since it's two series in a row that he's been outplayed by the opposing goalie.
Granted the previous round was against a god-like performance. But if Markstrom played like this in the first round, Flames likely wouldn't have even made it to six games, let alone win.
He's been an incredible disappointment. He's not putting up playoff goaltending, and you need that no matter what the rest of the team is doing.

Sounds too cliche to me, man. Sucks to lose this game, but they are among the last eight teams playing. It's a privilege to get this hockey to watch. Series isn't even over.
