In reality, the gap between the teams was very slim in the last half of the season. Add in a generational player who is impossible to stop, whilst the Flames are playing less than their ability, makes for a tough series.
Don’t forget, Smith outplaying Markstrom by a large margin. A top line in Calgary neutered. Plus dead weights like Toffoli and Hanifin for the entire playoffs.

To add insult to injury, this series isn’t even good hockey. If we were down in an intense, emotional, hard-fought series at least it we’d get some entertainment out of it. But it’s just been sloppy, janky hockey.

Flames look mentally broken. A very disappointing BOA to see the Flames fall apart and not show their best in each game.
They've been playing a bit better this period, but just terrible mental #### ups have put them down by two, and now they're back to missing passes and playing timid in the Oilers end of the rink.

We are good team no doubt but let’s face it we haven’t been great in the playoffs at all. Struggled past a poor Dallas team and now being shown up by the Oilers.
Goaltending has been second best in both series. Very tough to win when a key factor like that is not in your favour.
