I'm not waiving a white flag just stating the flames need to play their game and stop worrying about Mcdri, being outshot 34-18 the first 2 periods is crazy for this team.

Things change so quickly. Just 5 periods ago we were up 1 game to zero and up 2 goals in the second period. Looking like we could be ready to take command.
It can change back that quickly too.

McD plays 25 min, why are Flames so bad the other 35?
Apart from face-offs, our third line needs to show up it as it is much better than theirs and could make a difference.
Flames are not playing like the deeper team. Didn't we outscore them in the regular season and also have a much better defensive record?
And how do the Oilers block more shots than the Flames? Is it because we lob so many shots at Smith from 30 feet away?
Flames have got to stop panicking over McD and just get back to playing their simple and effective game. Hope they figure this out quick.

I'm not looking to pick a battle with you right now and I am praying the final result is the same from that series. But this is not remotely the same thing. The Flames were dictating everything in the Stars series, right now after 3 games, they look like they've completely forgot how to defend or take away anything transitionally from the Oilers. Through 3 games, from a defensive perspective, they aren't even close.

Not throwing in the towel, but we really have to make major changes to every facet of our game - and quick, if we are to have any chance.
Ordinarily, after watching Markstrom’s body of work over the first three in this series, you’d go to your back-up, but I don’t think that is an option for us. You just have to hope that Jakob figures it out.
As for the defence, they have to stop ####ting the bed every time the Oilers cross center ice at speed. We need to do what we’ve been doing all season, and hold the line.
We need to go back to playing like a team that has confidence in our goalie. We will not win another game playing like we are now.
Go back to what we’re good at. If we don’t, then we aren’t very likely to take another game.

Oilers have looked like the better team in ~6 of the 9 periods played in the series.
It's getting to a point of embarrassment as a life long flames fan.

they outscored a far inferior Stars team by 1 goal in the series.
This was a team built for the regular season masquerading as a team built for the playoffs.
They may as well put Rosy in for Game 5.

Bud you want to talk smack about the first 3 games of this series, by all means go for it, but you lose all credibility when you make a blanket statement about goal differential in the Stars series, just to fit your narrative.

I think it's time to face the fact that McDavid has turned it up a notch in the playoffs and he has the Flames rattled. They are chasing him a lot and really need to find their composure again. It really sucks.

The Flames responded during Round 1 when their backs were against the wall (Game 4 and Game 7).
I am not guaranteeing a win next game because the Oilers have the best player in the world, but I will guarantee that the Flames will fight tooth and nail.

Honest question: Do you even enjoy cheering for this franchise? It seems like every one of your posts is trying to find the most negative angle.

Typically when you assess a series and the play of a team, it goes much much deeper than that. Listen, ask anybody on here, I'm a pessimistic person when it comes to this franchise and have doubted this entire organization and core, top to bottom, but to just say hey they only outscored Dallas by 1 doesn't tell the entire story of that series. The god damn Oilers went to 7 with the Kings too.

Was just going to say,
If it can change that quickly for the worse, it also can for the better.
We're not in the danger zone yet, and even if it took us 3OTs to squeak one out in game 4 (just hypothetically), then it would still put momentum massively in the Flames' favour heading home with 2 of 3 on Dome ice. Series is won with outcomes, not goals (as much as the Oilers would love that).
Flames players should keep this in mind too. They don't have to reverse the score of this game or make a huge offensive statement. They just have to find any way on the road to put 1 more in their net than they do ours.
That's not a monumental task against those guys, whatsoever. At this point, it's about feeling good about yourself and not feeling daunted or discouraged because of the last couple games. The answers are all still there. Just make sure you bring the effort. Rest should take care of itself.

I mean, I’m certainly guilty of being negative after tough losses. Wound up on the WOS in Round 1. Not proud. But to be continually overwhelmingly critical of the team that we collectively adore, he has to be a troll.

The Oilers going to 7 games with the Kings gives me some hope, but the bar has been raised and as much as it pains me to say it, their key players have rose to match that. I feel like vomiting just thinking about it, but the results speak for themselves.
I find some solace in the fact that the Flames were down 2-1 after three games against Dallas and raised their game, so I am not jumping ship. The Oilers were also down 2-1 in the L.A. series. Sometimes being down ignites a team to come back. It's not lights out yet, but the Flames need to win 3 out of 4 now. That is not an easy task.

I think its ok to be critical, dare I say negative. The team certainly hasn't given you a reason to be optimistic the last 3 games, but when your so negative that you go beyond this series and say o well the goal differential was only 1 after round 1, when they literally absolutely dominated every game and dominated every offensive metric, indicates to me your nit picking to fit your agenda.
Flames were down 2 1 after 3 vs Dallas, they are now down 2 1 vs the Oil. After 3 games in each series, they aren't even remotely similar minus the game count.

LA was the team that was down 2-1 after getting blown out twice and ended up shutting them out 4-0 in game 4.
