I’m the exact opposite. Do you really think the reffing up there will be any better? They will be on a constant PP.

Markstrom needs to find a save.

11 goals allowed in two games.

Absolute garbage.

Top players outplayed pretty much completely
Flames got gifted two goals by depth players that actual makes the score more flattering than it should be
Was never going to be a short series
In Darryl I trust

feel like we beat ourselves in a lot of ways there. tie game, powerplay, and then a shorthanded goal and another breakaway. Smith was good after his two stinkers. I don't think he's going to give us many free ones any more. we need to be better. hopefully we win atleast one in Edmonton

Never established any flow 5 on 5. I’m not sure how you can because the officiating standard is all over the place. Bad calls both ways. Had to be almost a third of the game on special teams.

More discipline required I guess, not sure it’ll matter much since the Oilers always seem to get their calls.

I’m guessing Sutter will play it down but I’m sure he’s frustrated by it.

The officiating was horrible but they blew it. You don't give up back to back breakaways in a close game.

I get back to Calgary the night of game 5. Appreciate the boys choosing to win it in 5 so I can be there for it. It’s only one game, Flames in 5 GFG

I highly doubt the reffing is going to change. Flames need to adapt to it and forcheck. Also we took at least 3 dumb penalties in the scrums and after the whistle. That's just selfish

When Tanev comes back (hopefully soon) I’d seriously consider taking Kylington out ahead of Stone.

On the plus side, the Oilers are still bad.

On the minus side, everyone sucked except Backlund.

It would sure be nice if the Flames could track down whoever it was who was playing in goal for them in the first round, that guy was nails.

One of the worst officiated games I’ve ever seen. If you don’t believe refs kill momentum, exhibit A is right here.

Aside from the piss poor effort from the Zebras, Calgary needs to tighten up defensively. You let Hyman and Draisaitl get free breakaways.

It's a better BOA if it's closer, but the fact that the Oilers life in this game was fully manufactured by the guys in black and white is just sad.

Not the way to make the series close. You at least have to make the Oilers earn it. How pathetic is it that you had to wheel up a booster chair just to get them to get themselves back in the series?

The refs turned it into a game where their floating cherry pickers could thrive.

Oh well. I'm not concerned because the Flames are better. We just need Markstrom to get his swagger back.

Treat the Oilers like any American NHL team, Jacob. That's all you need to do.

Stop treating these Canadian clubs any different!

Great start but so odd that the Flames can’t just put these guys away. Seemed like the Oilers scored the more timely goals. That Backlund missed breakaway in the first is haunting me. Is Smith really better than Markstrom?

They didn't lose because of the reffing. But the reffing ruined the game.

Too Bad.

On to number 3

We never make it easy. Can’t dwell on the missed opportunity. Need to be better in game 3.

Hope Darryl can fix whatever is broken right now and get back to some actual structure / checking.

River hockey is too chaotic and gives Edmonton their best chance, so stop playing it.

Also our top players need to be far better than tonight.

Didn’t expect to sweep. But also expected a better performance on home ice. You're not in trouble in a best of 7 until you lose on home ice.

As bad as reffing was - on both ends - Flames got 2 fake PPs in the 3rd on the 2
Weakest calls in the game and allowed a SHG

The refs blew a goal on both teams and many PPs- but it was still 3-3 and we were on the PP on a weak call and allowed a SHG
