It’s funny to hear cuthbert call this a classic. This is unwatchable garbage. Penalty parade with awful call after awful call, pathetic 4 on 4 BS.

Rough period for the Flames, thought the Oilers were really good.

Flames were running around,

So to win this game - the Flames just have to beat the Oilers and the Refs! 😡😡😡

Trying to explain the rules of hockey to a new viewer.

Anyone have any suggestions, because I am at a loss to explain penalties to my friend this game.

This is what I was most worried about a BoA series

Good thing, it's still a tie game going into the third. Just play one good period.

the refs are treating the Oilers like the Harlem Globetrotters.

Well through 2 periods the 25 mins of 5 on 5 look good.

The rest, no so.

The ref's are just choosing whatever plays they want to call. This isn't officiating anymore its just game management / trying to control the outcome of a game.

McDavid's wasn't a violent collision like Coleman's was.

McDavid has incidental contact, Coleman crashed into Smith.

Those are called pretty consistently IMO.

The only good thing is that Ron McLean isn’t reffing tonight

Pretty easy when you spend 1/3rd of the period up a man

If there is one thing Sutter does well is pushing the team with the "us versus world" narrative, and he has enough fuel now that it should be an easy buy in.

That's fair, but the standard for even up call as against the Flames had been unbelievably low. See the Lindholm penalty for pushing Keith after taking a cross check. Or the Tkachuk penalty for pushing Nurse after he high sticked Tofolli.

The other game had 7 total powerplays. The Oilers are going to get more than that.

I like how the panel's opening image was a very clear holding the stick from McDavid on Anderson

Yep undisciplined by Coleman.

And the Stone call is what it is. Stupid rule but it’s the right call.

Maybe a missed call on Puj. But generally the hockey is unwatchable when it’s a PP fest.
