McDavid is easily the best player on the ice right now, it's not very close, and it needs to be closer. At even strength, Johnny is absolutely capable of having a similar impact and he needs to exert his will and match what the other star is doing. I want to see the version of him that has the other team's fans holding their breath until he goes to change, and it hasn't been like that yet.

Jarnkrok on against McDavid scares me, glad Markstrom held onto that one.

Oilers win if McDavid plays 40 mins in regulation time

Flames look dominant 5-on-5 for the most part.

Can't play 4-on-4 against McDavid, or keep taking penalties either obviously.

I haven't heard that comparison before but it makes sense. Seems the Oil are all McDavid right now. Personally I'd just keep Backlund on him every shift and see if he can shadow and shut him down. Seems like noone else is doing much.

Was just thinking the same thing. Johnny waiting rather than making opportunity.

The difference is that McDavid is playing twice as many minutes per game.

Gaudreau was McDavid-dominant in game 1. He was better than McDavid, even. Connor just got his points from unusually poor goaltending.

Tonight connor is the best player, easily, yes.
