Calgary should be able to get a breakaway or odd man rush with how much the Oilers are forechecking and sending in a defenseman late down the wing it feels like.

Ramus has to figure out how to give McDavid a bit of space so he makes the first move...when he initiates, it just feels like McDavid is able to exploit him (albeit holding his stick)... like a shooter waiting for the goalie to go down early...

He's been good tonight. It's just a little ugly that some pucks are finding those holes.

McDavid will slow as the game goes on. He's not god and will eventually tire. If the refs stop giving him free pp minutes he will be forced to play 5v5 which is much harder.

Flames are chasing it out there. Oilers are getting rid of the puck quickly and taking advantage of flames going all out on finishing checks and being out of position. Even though the Oilers passes aren't connecting the flames are too busy chasing possession to be in a position to transition.

I think the second period we see the flames move to 1-1-3 on the forecheck and start intercepting some of these quick outs!

they actually did a study and found that oilers fans turn off the game after the first period if the intermission panel isn't entirely about them. not good for ad dollars ya know

You all should try to switch to the ESPN broadcast. They are calling it how it is....

Called the first penalty on the hit on Bouchard as selling it.

Called the dive on Gaudreau ridiculous since he was cross checked from behind but then from a different angle did note he did go down easy. They still thought call was ridiculous.

There were pretty fair for the goal called back. Overall their call has been very neutral and great to watch.

They did note that after the first two goals Oilers have carried the play and have chances way in favor of Oilers. All true and Flames need to wake up if they are going to win game 2. Anyways don't watch CBC if you can help it!
