Tested positive on Tuesday. Hardly any symptoms aside from being very very tired and a small cough. The tiredness is unlike any cold/flu I've had. Hoping it will get better in a few days

Tested positive Wednesday. Triple vaxxed. To be brutally honest, it's been a bit of a breeze. If I didn't know any better I'd just think it was a very mild cold. Stuffed up a bit today, throat is pretty good, small headache the other day but that might have been from the rum during the hockey game. That's it, no fever or chills or anything like that. Got lucky, looks like the vaccines are doing their jobs.

Outside of knowing I tested positive for Covid on Tuesday. I wouldn't think any thing of this and would have carried on with my normal day to day.
I feel 100% back to normal after testing positive on Tuesday. I am through 3 / 5 doses of Paxlovid. The only tough part is the metallic taste in my mouth. I didn't lose smell or taste but it tastes like I have metal coins in my mouth. Confirmed with friend also on Paxlovid that he has the same thing.

The vaccines and Paxlovid seem to have worked for me. Now it will be interesting to see how long I test positive for.

Also watch for rebound symptoms/positive results. It seems to be happening quite a bit.

Tested positive on Tuesday. Felt like a normal cold.

Whole new perspective today. Decided I would try and go for a run and about 15 mins in nearly passed out. Couldn’t get air and super dizzy. Been wheezing on the couch for 10-15. Scary stuff.

I have finished Paxlovid and the only effects were metal tasting mouth and an upset stomach. But the upset stomach could be from other meds I take (or my acid reflux).

I feel 100%. Ok 100% but for the last couple days I get really tired around 3pm. I took an hour nap and then felt fine.

I also tested negative today twice on rapids tests today.

So all in all. Not sure if I had a really mild case or is Paxlovid aided. I would definitely seek out another prescription if I catch another case. I've had it twice though. My career has me around 50-400 adult hockey players almost every weekend so I'm probably constantly exposed. Im good with never catching it again. But if I do, I hope it's the same severity I've gotten with the first two.

Happy to hear it was under control for you, thanks for the updates. My wife said she had heard the stomach issues were a normal complaint for the people she has talked to and taken it.

Just think of how much worse it would be without the vaccine

I'm not sure if you're be facetious or not. I've always been a proponent of the vaccines. I'll take as many boosters as science deems is necessary for me to stay safe.

Actually being from Oklahoma, I drove from Calgary to Oklahoma to get the vaccine in February of 2020 since it looked like my age group wouldn't get it til summer time in Calgary.

The streak is over for me. Went for a run yesterday and noticed my HR and pace was was off. Overall the run was just very hard. Later that day I had literally no energy. Just watched that Three Mile Island documentary on Netflix for hours. I figured I had it then but my test yesterday was negative.

After a long night of feeling chilled and just a crappy sleep I woke up more congested and bouts of a runny nose. My head hurts a bit and a slight cough. Did the test again and my test was positive with my red line being a bright bright red.

Thanks I think it will be. Triple Vaxxed. Honestly it feels like a normal cold. It has been so long since I had one I almost forgot what it was like. The last time I was sick was Feb. 2020 and whatever that was makes this look like a cake walk

Wife and I tested negative the entire time and thankfully no one else he was in contact with got it.

Missed 4 baseball games and 2 practices. Thank god for the Oculus and Win Reality. He's now hitting HRs in VR batting practice. He's missed so much school this year I fear he's going to become a moron. Better succeed at ball.
After 5 straight days of being a Covid free house, my wife tested positive on Sunday. She's got a bit of a sore throat and a lot of congestion. If I don't get it this time, I feel like I should call science and let them study me.

About one month my one kid tested positive and I literally took no precautions other than keeping him home. I never got Covid and even tested myself every couple days for a couple weeks. My other kiddo had symptoms by no positive test.

I was feeling a bit invincible but I did not escape this last one. Otherwise I was going to donate myself to science too.

Just had my first cold since December 2019. Will state that the quick recovery from this cold, when compared to Covid which lingered a few weeks, was really nice. With the cold, I was back at the gym in under a week and lifting at my max again, as I was actually somewhat rested and refreshed. With Covid my ability to maximally exert myself was definitely decreased for almost 3 weeks.

Vaxxed and boosted (Phizer). Late 40’s, no underlyings. Good health, hockey twice a week, regularly run.

Fri -Went to concert in tiny closed room. Band cancelled tour next day because of Covid in the band. I was masked, everyone vaxxed to be admitted, the band wasn’t masked. Most likely exposure (not blaiming). Probably the riskiest thing I’ve done (other than hockey) in 2.5 years.

Sunday - tired all day
Mon - Woke up with sore throat, runny nose, fever\chills, ache. Tested negative. Standard flu symptoms.
Tues -more congestion and cough.
Wed AM- Tested Positive Wed AM.
Wed - Got teledoctor at 2:45 PM. Gave me Paxlovid perscription. Took PaxLOVEit! at 6:30pm. Metallic taste all night, but slept 10 hours.
Thurs - Woke up feeling 90%. No sore throat, no congestion. Some coughing.
Thurs night (now)- no symptoms whatever.

Its the first time in my life i’ve taken a pill and 24 hours later i’m fine.

Like… totally.

Have read that once it runs out Rona can rebound, so going to take it super easy next 10 days. But based on the last day its a f-ing miracle drug.

Neither my one year old or myself have any symptoms, and I’ve tested negative every day since Thursday. Fingers crossed that we somehow avoided spreading it within our house…
I don't think I ever updated after this but my daughter tested positive for Covid 10 days after my wife did, and then I tested positive 3 days after my daughter.

All in all the ordeal ended up being a month long. If we could go back now I don't think we would've bothered trying so hard to avoid spreading it in the house.

My daughter and I got worse symptoms than my wife, but all 100% recovered within 10 days or so.

My wife has it for a 2nd (possibly 3rd) time... Thanks O&G for your antiquated "You have to be in the office to be productive" view. She's immunocompromised, IMO she should be able to work from home.

I told her to talk to the doctor about getting Paxlovid.

I'm feeling kinda crappy too but tested negative so far.

Really sorry to hear she's in that situation. I have a family member with a similar problem with her job and now she's gotten it twice. Both times out for extended periods. I'm having trouble understanding how these long absences are better for the employer.

I was for sure I’d get them since I started Paxlovid the first day I had any symptoms. But I didnt have any kind of rebound symptoms. I continued to test every other day until 14 days after my initial positive test just to be sure.

I did play hockey this past weekend and even with the minor case my lungs were on fire.
