I give him a pass on this one, he was cheating because it was a 2-on-0 with McDavid and Draisaitl after hanifin got caught flatfooted in the neutral zone

So is Kassian going to face any discipline from the league for instigating the bruhaha at the end?

That was pure luck for the Oilers. Those buffoons get all the breaks.

One thing I noticed in the post-game. When they interviewed Coleman, he was angry at how they had given up 6 goals. When they interviewed Nurse, it was very much an oh-well-it-happens vibe

Little iffy from Markstrom but hard game to get into a rhythm on for a goalie when the team is giving up nothing but a few prime shots.

Wasn’t worried at any point, even when the Oilers tied it. Nice cheering for a team that you know can play a third period however they want, shut it down or open it up, and come out with the win (especially against pushovers like the Oilers).

Yup. The talk of a man that's been there and done that, vs a man that has no idea where he is

1) he over-bought McDavid's move. But we can give that a pass
2) he totally over-committed with the flop and took himself out

Sutter has balls of iron for leaving him in, and it turned out to be a fantastic move, as Markstrom was more positionally sound in the 3rd.

But the bottom line is that goaltending is everything in the playoffs and the only way the Oilers can win the series is if Markstrom is the 2nd best goalie. and last night he was (well, 3rd best, but...)
Sutter definitely deserves more credit than I was willing to give him last night. How different is the narrative today if the Oilers were able to chase Markstrom? As it was he settled down in the third and looked fine. I'm not too worried about anything carrying over for him into the next game.

Smith on the other hand likely has some question marks floating around in his head.

They have to put the clip of Smith saying "yep!" Every time the Flames score on him.

The guys were great in the third. Markstrom settled in. Good on Sutter to stay the course.

If Tanev was in I think the score would have been lopsided.

Hope we see him on Friday.

There were a few gaffes handling the puck behind the net early in the game and he just didn't look on his game. Markstrom has been known to let in the occasional soft goal and bounce back but it snowballed on him last night. Hopefully it's just a one-off but I believe Markstrom has struggled against the Oilers in the past as a Flame and Canuck.

Yeah the Flames had a really good game for the first half. It wasn't really till that really weak first Hyman goal did I start to worry. I was like "we're dominating play.. why is this happening!?" It was a consecutive 15 minute sequence that the Oilers starting catching Flames players out of position, giving them grade A opportunities. And unfortunately most of them went in.

Not that it meant anything, but Lucic was awarded with 4 mins for roughing at the end, while 3 other players got 2 min roughing penalties, which didn't make any sense.

He dropped his gloves and Kane didn't.
