Funny that all lines scored except the 3rd line. I think if Dube gets out of that line, he’ll be scoring. Still think Rucizka is a better fit than Jarnkrok.

I'd say 2 for Markstrom. He made toe save off Ryan, but two of the "bad goals" were outright errors allowing the chances to be as good as they were one in one vs the goalie.

Oilers are a lot more tenacious in the zone then Dallas is at trying to win the puck in offensive zone...Flames forwards and D caught off guard with that.

In this case, if they can't stop McDavid, then they just outscore McDavid - just like they did the last time. It actually makes sense in a way: McDavid can be the difference in a 3-2 game, but he can't be the difference in a 9-6 game, so just open it up and trade punches with no defence (but hopefully better goaltending next time).

The Flames should really take this series quickly, especially if Draisaitl continues to look like a bag of rotten potatoes. I think that guy has both a high-ankle sprain and Covid. Flames need to knock this team out before he recovers from one or the other.

My only concern about this series now is that the Flames may lose some of the good habits Dallas kindly taught them before going into a likely match-up with the Avs. They certainly can't play like that at any rate.
There is a lot of series to be played here. Sutter won’t let them look beyond next game, let alone next series. I don’t think it’s wise to judge the Oilers on one game.

Nah. Jarnkrok was great tonight IMO. Thought he played well in his head to head time against McDavid too (in 4 minutes head to head he was 93% xGF)

Sutter didn’t seem to worry too much about having any of our top 3 lines out against McDavid and that’s a huge advantage for us.

Ruzicka wouldn’t be counted on to be able to do that.

They’ll clean up what they’ve gotta clean up and be all the better for game 2

And Ritchie scored!!!

I never thought about the PBP once during the game. Then I realized afterwards that it was because he was perfectly integrated into the action. Really, really good.

Could you imagine if it was Michaels instead?

LOL. Markstrom sucked. Plus/Minus stats go out the window for this game.

Yep. Gotta be smarter on the D zone but the O zone is going to be a lottttt easier than Dallas.

We will miss him when someone wants to give him 5x5.
Keith knows he doesn't want to be third man in ona fight but no Flame was around to grab. He was almost happy to see Zadorov.

Hopefully Backlund didn't catch whatever unvaxxed Archibald had in that fight.

Or we can all buy Big Z jerseys when we re-sign him for 5X5!!

Do you guys want the Flames to be a tough team to play against or not????
