That is what I fear. My god though, if McDavid gets hurt by at home there could be riots. Tkachuk would need a security escort if he did it

Oil in 5. The talent level between the teams isn't close. We had a 6 week or so nap during the season which cost us finishing top 3 in the league....boys wanted a new coach so they made it happen. Calgary will get frustrated early and play undisciplined and pay the price. Calgary sucks balls.

Quote:
Mcdavid will hit 50 points in the post season this year.
I see atleast 15 points coming against Calgary.

You got this boys. Will have to put up with ####ty refs and Flames goons, but we will be like the Black Knight and not give up, even though no one is giving us a chance.

Quote:
Lets f***ing get it. Connor's gonna torch these guys and Nuge is gonna have a big series.
Keep it composed and play just on the edge. Keep it simple on defence and the Flames will have to resort to their shoot it from anywhere game plan.
Gonna be some huge energy the first 10 minutes of the game. Throw some big hits but don't get into the retaliation bull#### that Rat/turtlechuk wants. Let them take the stupid penalties and punish them on the PP.
Lets get to Markstrom early. As good as he's been this year, he's a very up and down goalie prone to letting in quite a few weak goals.
Lets f***ing go. Oilers in 6 or 7.

At long last, it is time to see the great prophecy come to pass:

Set the tone early and come at them in waves with our skill. If we play the way we did in games 6 and 7 against LA, Calgary can't bother us.
|
Quote:
FWIW, LA had 75 high danger chances vs the Oilers in round 1; Calgary had 83 vs Dallas.
Not quite sure the Flames are the offensive juggernaut that poster thinks they are - they are no Colorado.
That said, they are miles better than LA offensively so this will not be a picnic. Smith needs to stay at .920 sv % minimum.

If Gretzky wants to dump on the Oilers I’ll have to share my sworn to secrecy story of him passing out at the bar at Rogers Place a couple years ago…

F*** the Flames!
The Oilers forwards need to skate around their ogres on defense (Zadorov, Gudbranson), who will be looking to injure our stars. Especially since the league gave them a free pass to do so after the Glendening hit

Quote:
This has all the makings of an upset. I admit I'm pretty surprised at how unanimous the pundits have been in predicting a Calgary victory, and I don't get it--I think I saw more people predicting a Nashville upset than there are people predicting an Oilers victory.
Calgary won only 1 more regular season game. The season series was tied at 2-2. Both team struggled in their first round--Edmonton looked disoriented at times while Calgary looked slow and stupid. Calgary's top producers were not even in the same universe as McDavid in round 1, who seems to have found a game-changing new gear. And Calgary can't transition the puck from their D to save their lives.
They will live and die on goaltending this series; to me, that's all they have that can be said to be clearly better (even though Smith has better numbers).
I'm not saying the Oilers shouldn't be the underdogs, but I don't think anyone should be surprised if they come out and beat the absolute #### out the Flames, let alone win the series.

I just hope they don’t take advantage of Drais injury and try to injure him more

I'm giving Calgary zero credit. Are you even reading? That franchise could disappear and it would improve the NHL.
Throughout NHL history in these "BOA" matchups the Oilers have been the supremely talented club and the Flames have been the team trying to make hockey stop, and play something else. Whether it be 80's 90's or now. Flames are dirtbags always. Despicable franchise.
|
Quote:
I'm also hoping in game 1 that the boys will make a mockery of the fake tough guys Andersson and Backlund. Two pathetic rats. Absolutely despicable losers. At least Tkachuk will throw hands and play tough. I respect Tkachuk as a player honestly. The other two are the biggest frauds in the league. Hope one of our guys tunes them up.

the only team that can beat the oilers in this series is themselves. we are giving the flames too much credit for a team that had one more win than us. we have scored 5 on them in 3/4 games we have played them. i dont have stats but i guess thats more than any other team has this year vs the flames. Get after them with speed and limit their odd man rushes and please dont let in weak goals. win game 1 their fake tough persona will come out. PPs favor us significantly.

Anderson is my most hated Flame.
Someone take a healthy run at him every chance you can.
He's right up there with Tkachuk. Then again, at least Tkachuk fights. Hope Kane pancakes Ratmus on the fore check once or twice in this series.

Yep and going back in the battle of Alberta we've seen guys lose spleens (Carey Wilson) may 11 /2001) via Steve Smith.
It's okay though .....Smith would later score on his own team bwahahaha ha ha lol .....Edmonton doing Edmonton things.
Definitely gonna see some fireworks because 3 loose cannons will be getting run ( Nurse, Kane and Kassian) should be targeted this whole series because they WILL take stupid penalties galore trying to retaliate all while looking dumb, being dumb and hurting their team .....CA ching....we just have to take advantage on the PP.
We just have to skate away and let them constantly parade their way to the box.

It's one more total win because they were boosted by 3v3 and shootout. I think we had 7 or 8 more regulation wins than them...not that we should let the facts get in the way of a good story.

They should really thank the flames for waking them up, oilers went on a 6 game winning streak after getting embarrassed by the flames.
can't wait to see Sutter take Woodcroft to the back of the woodshed once again.

Wow those Oiler fans are delusional. A lot of disrespect and I think they are in for a wake up call. Those mouth breathers are poor at math. We had 6 more regulation wins on them. We had less high danger chances against Dallas because they are a far better defensive team than Edmonton. Where exactly do they have more talent outside their top 2 players? We have far superior depth, blueline, and goalie.
I hope we crush them this series.

Predicting Flames in 7 and I don't believe Draisaitl isn't as injured as reported. No team is going to give out information like that. It will be a punishing series that Flames just win by the skin of their teeth, cause Flames always do it the hard way.

Let’s not get into a penalty filled mess cause that’s the only way the Oilers win games. This is my only worry
