Which has always been my view on it. I hate seeing replays of that goal. It only matters if you win game 7. They didn't. So it's just a dude making a fool of himself.
That history got cleared when Yakupov did his regular season slide.

Any idea when the game starts on Wednesday?

NHL.com says 830pm MST, NHL app says 730pm, Sportsmen says 830pm MST.

It should remind you of losing in 5 games to the 68 point North Stars...assuming you were actually born and not like most Oiler fans who brag about seasons they weren't even alive for

The Great One picked the Flames to win the series incase you need to shut down any Oiler trash talkers

As well, McD has 7 points in 4 games this year vs the Sutter Flames. That’s even a little higher percentage than his lifetime stat.
In the 4 regular season BoA's here are player stats:

McDavid: 3 G / 4 A / 7 PTs / -3
Draisaitl: 5 G / 6 A / 11 PTs / -2

Gaudreau: 1 G / 7 A / 8 PTs / +5
Tkachuk: 3G / 5 A / 8 PTs / +5
Lindholm: 3G / 2 A / 5 PTs / +5

Now lets just look at even strength scoring for those same players in those same 4 games:

McDavid: 1 G / 0 A / 1 PT
Draisaitl: 3 G / 2 A / 6 PTs

Gaudreau: 1 G / 6 A / 7 Pts
Tkachuk: 3 G / 3 A / 6 PTs
Lindholm: 2 G / 2 A / 4 PTs

Gaudreau had as many even strength points against the Oilers in 4 games, as McDavid and Draisiatl did combined against the Flames.

So long as the Flames stay disciplined, and the PK is up to the task when the Oilers inevitably get some calls their way, this series isn't even close.

The Whiner is getting old and needs money. BetMGM told him the odds.

Some of the takes on the Oilers boards are just crazy.

The team with a headbutt suspension and a cross checking fine are calling the team with no supplementary discipline a bunch of goons.

Flames have no forward depth, overrated D and are the "darlings if the NHL".

LA was a super hard out and Dallas was so bad they would have been swept in four games by a good team.

I'm excited to watch the Oilers faithful and their fanboy broadcasters as the Flames roll four lines and attack in unrelenting waves.

McDavid will do his thing and may turn the tide in a game or two, but over the series the Flames structure will take over.

Except it was Vernon who gave the Oilers life. A shot by Tikkanen just over centre ice that goes in between his pads and the Dome went silent with a sign of here we go again. As good as Vernon was he always let in bad goals at the most inopportune time

They have been told all year by the CBC and SN how awesome their team is.

If the Flames play with tempo like they did in a bunch of the games vs Dallas, they should win. If they sit back at all, or make mistakes and let McAvi and Raisaitl do their thing it'll be close.

Head says Flames in 6, heart says CRUSH THE NO GOODS.

If either team gets beaten in 4 or 5 games it's going to absolutely demoralizing for that franchise and their fan base.

Taking off my E=NG glasses and saying that this will be a much tougher series than the voting suggest (even though I picked Flames in 7). Oilers seem to show up against the Flames more often than not. McDavid is having a good post season offensively. Evander Kane has shown up and been a force. Oilers and their fans will treat this like the Cup final, so the Flames and fanbase will have to be ready weather the storm.

I still think the Flames come out on top. But I'm sure we'll see a few McD video game cheat code rushes on occasion. Just thankful no more Oettenger and hoping for some Smith flops.

Should be a much more entertaining series with no more Rick Bones suffocating play. That Dallas series was brutal for more than a few reasons, so this should feel a lot more entertaining.

Draisaitl replacement? It's one thing to shoot up his ankle for game 7, it's another to play a grinding best of 7 series. How did he look on Saturday against LA?

Mavi played over 27 minutes in that game -- but he won't be able to sustain that in Round 2.

Maybe they don't watch a lot of non-Oiler broadcasts and don't realize how often panels put time aside to hype McDavid. Since they landed McDavid, they have become the hockey media's Toronto-West.
