No one will ever question Gaudreau for being a playoff performer from here on to the rest of his career.
He also just secured himself an extra few mill. Crazy, such a big time player and true superstar.

Also, please sign Ball to the same length of contract as Gaudreau.
And, convince Millen to come out here and replace Kelly and Cassie. Ball is the best in the business IMO and Millen is fantastic too, as old school color guy…excellent insight, gives a true flavour of the emotion and doesn’t try and jam stats or anecdotes in like Kelly or especially Cassie does (to cover for her inexperience) and just has a great delivery and can tell he is a fan of the game and into the game. Ball and Millen get along great as well.
Both guys let the game breathe…great emotion from both and great calls and a treat to listen to.

Imagine having a 0.943 save percentage over a 7 game series and not being the best goalie in the series.

The 3 on 2, the Pavelski chance…OT was pretty back and forth

####ing insane. Never seen a guy play so little for 2 years then draw in and play so well.
Didn't know we were sitting a guy with that much big game potential.
|
He was excellent when we acquired him as the #4 beside Brodie. Had a great series in 2017, people forget but Gibson stole that series from us.
He was pretty good the next year too under Gulutzan, but that whole pair (Kulak-Stone) had low on-ice shooting percentage. Along with the whole rest of the team. What a frustrating year... we lost so many games shooting 40+ on net after Brodie was done for the year. though it never felt right the way it does under Darryl.
I think Stone was injured the whole Peters year.
And then Geoff Ward's passive systems happened and it felt like Stone's career was done.
Props to Stone for bringing back the same level of play we saw when we first acquired him. But also props to Sutter!

Most of their chances were early. Then the ice tilted IMO.

That was insane, we were all balls of tension for the entire game. Seemed like we would never get a third goal by Oetinger.
On the PP in OT I said to my son, “they need to get it to Lindholm in the slot”. It didn’t happen on the PP, but a few shifts later Tkachuk won a battle, Johnny found Lindy, and Johnny potted the rebound. So fitting for that line to get the winner.
When it went in their were hugs, cheers, and high fives all around in my house. What a feeling!
Some other thoughts:
- Lucic line was great all night, in particular in OT
- Backlund was good again too, great game
- Markstrom the unsung hero of the series. Kept all the games close.
- The game turned around when I set up my Flames flag and hats beside the TV. You’re welcome!
- I drank an Old Fashioned with a RED Maraschino Cherry in it for OT. I guess that’s now my drink of the playoffs.

I cursed zadarov when he gave that away so loudly I scared my dog. I guess it saved the dog from being scared on the ot winner on the bright side,
