Gaudreau on pace for under 20 minutes TOI again. Sutter is clueless on this. 60% gaudreau is still this team’s best forward.
They had great chances. Mangiapane, Tkachuk, Dube all did.

They made him move cross crease a lot.

How the #### do you go up 3-2 in the series and fail to put them away either game.

Man up and score a goal ffs.

I hope Markstrom shuts it down the rest of the way. The Flames need every advantage they can get in winning this game.

Hockey gods hate us and them scoring on the first shot feels like proof of that.

Honestly if this game finished 1-0 I wouldn’t be too surprised.

There is also no correlation between winning faceoffs and possession metrics.

as far as faceoffs’ impact on winning a game, what we’ve learned from this is that faceoffs have almost no correlation with winning ...

Another point often made with faceoffs is how it helps a team’s possession numbers. In theory, it should, because it allows you to start the play with the puck.

...
The R2 of 0.083 tells us that once again, there is almost no correlation between faceoffs and a team’s possession ability.

The crowd seems quieter than one should be on a game 7.

Flames had two quality chances that period. The best was Tkachuk on a wide open net and he almost put in the 20th row of the stands. Need to get traffic in front of the net, take the puck to the middle, and score a greasy goal.

Well they scored 5 against him, and 1 was a 5-on-3 and another a penalty shot.

It's been as tight as it gets against this goalie.

Oettingers save percentage will regress to the norm and he will put up a .890 if they play against the Oilers.

Just how it works.

Yup and for the most part they shot it right at the goalie.

The Oilers will absolutely light him up, not sure why nobody on the Flames can finish.

Flames need to just stick with it. Don't get frustrated. Don't get impatient.

He had great position on the shots. But Tkachuk had a post - nog exactly at the goalie.

So are you saying Oettinger has not been the best goalie in the playoffs this year?
