I am going to suggest Z Is suspended for two games. Why? Because that is where the wheel falls.

Thank heavens Darryl is at the controls.
Nurse got 1 game and it’s 100% intentional

It’s a joke if Zadorov got more than 1

Benn gets away with 3-4 bull#### dangerous penalties and they’re going to suspend Z for this…
League is a joke. Refs are a joke

Just be consistent.

I know they're trying to get head shots out of the game, but then all of them are suspensions and players will tone it down.

Zadorov isn't innocent as open ice hitting a smaller player will result in some sort of violent result ... physics just dictates that no matter where the hit starts the head is going to go into Zadorov too.

But be consistent.

All those hits are suspensions, and a head butt like Nurse is more.

It's common sense.

Oh and the league should probably target slew foots and intentional high sticking to players in vulnerable positions too.

If the NHL wants to be consistent it would be a fine, as with the rest of the suspendable things that have happened so far.

Is this hit not basically a carbon copy of the Kase hit that was deemed clean?

FWIW, last night in the Dallas feed Don Koharski said that he felt it was suspendable. He then broke down the hit (paraphrasing) saying it was more violent than needed and not just to separate player from puck. Gretzky said Stars fans will be looking for a suspension, while Flames fans will say clean hockey play.

I'm doing my very best to not view that hit as a Flames fan and I just don't see how you can suspend Zad for the hit.

For sure any head contact is less than ideal but when the hitter is 6'5 and the recipient is 5'11 what's a guy to do? Doesn't look targeted. New rules incoming where you can't hit a guy if he's a certain amount lighter and shorter?

I thought this was supposed to be playoff hockey.

To add, Zadorov wasn't even assessed a penalty, unlike Namestnikov.

Trouba-Crosby (slower and more avoidable)

Oshie-Bennett

I’m not sure how Z’s hit ends up on the other side of ‘the line’ than these.

Hearing basically means one game at least?

Yup, fines don't have hearings. It is a done deal, min 1 game.

Gaudreau has taken a headshot and a slash to the neck with no supplemental discipline. What a joke.

Good point. They are quite similar, arguably there was more head contact on Glendening but it’s essentially the same play by Zadorov:

Personally I think Pavelski's (?) slash to Gaudreau's neck was worse.

Oshie on Bennett, Trouba on Crosby. How this gets a game and those don’t is hysterical.

I honesty think the Trouba hit was just bad luck.

Crosby's head moved at the last second and the point of contact was the shoulder holding the stick which isn't the way anyone lines up to hit someone.
