Dallas were on the brink and did everything they needed to do to extend the series. Flames clearly weren't prepared for that kind of desperation, and just looked lost and uninspired at times. Defensive breakdowns all over the place, bad turnovers, and I'll bet Markstrom probably wants that 1st Dallas goal back, as that was one of the rare softies he's allowed.
Johnny and Stone were by far the best Flames players on the ice tonight. Everyone else needs to be a lot better if this team wants to advance.
Flames know they didn't play well, and I have a feeling they'll be a much different team on Sunday. They'll have to be, as the Stars have demonstrated that they aren't going down without a fight. Gotta hand it to them, they've shown a lot of character in this series.
It's frustrating as hell, but Oettinger just might be on the verge of stealing this series.

In the first round of the 1971 playoffs the vaunted Bruins with Orr and Esposito played a Montreal Canadiens team with an unkown rookie goaltender by the name of Ken Dryden. He would stone the Bruins and help the Canadiens win the series in 7 games.
Jake Oettinger reminds of that same Ken Dryen. Will history repeat itself or will the Flames find an answer and solve the goaltending of Jake Oettinger.

The Flames really need to remember why they are here in the first place. We’re not going to win the division only to lose to Dallas in the first round. That should just not be the case. For what it’s worth I think they will win game 7.
Today I was talking to my 5 year old about my favorite moment in sports.
Gelinas Game 7 OT winner.
I was explaining how it meant so much due to the 14 years without winning a playoff series and 7 years not making the playoffs.
Not to mention the fact Vancouver won game 6 on triple OT, then tying in the last minute in game 7 to force OT again.
I was devastated.
I had no hope.
And then... "Here's Igina off the boards, Yelle a shot, Auld save, another, they score and it's Martin Gelinas the former Canuck! And the Calgary Flames will end the cup curse and move on to Detroit on round 2!"
My favorite moment in all of sport doesn't happen without the preceding immense amount of heartbreak.
Sunday.
Game 7.
We've been the better team in 6 out of the 6 games played.
C of Red.
Go Flames Go.
Every word you said is true, but in the moment is almost impossible to appreciate. I hope one day I can!
Watch the games. He’s frickin gassed the last game with Gaudreau on the ice snd tonight in the final minute, he just stood at the frickin blue line while everyone’s rushing towards the Flames’ end and they scored! It’s pathetic!
So you don't have number proving he is over weight? Why not just say he is lazy?
Surely anyone can see that Chucky is the problem and not JG. Maybe play your 100 point game and save the scraps to Looch and co
Just meant that the team will go through some major off season change. Johnny has been great these playoffs - playing hard in all three zones. I’ll be sad if he goes - he’s playing his butt off.

I remembered 2004 when Canucks tied the series 3-3 and I turned to my nephew and said we are gonna lose game 7. Then game 7 rolls around, boy, was I ever wrong.
Yep losing at home in 3OT of Game 6 was a heartbreaker. But Darryl Sutter's Flames came ready to play in Game 7 and that game was one to remember for the ages. I'm sure we'll see the same on Sunday.
