They are eliminated.
First three rounds in the Q are best of 5 followed by a best of 7.
Huge upset, atleast they still have a chance in the memorial cup.

My apologies, looks like you’re correct. The bracket is a bit misleading. Has it always been that format in the Q? I don’t remember it being that way….

No it hasn't.
It was like the other leagues in the CHL prior to COVID.
I don't like it personally.. been crazy busy at work the past two weeks and haven't had the chance to go to any of the game here in QC.

I wouldn’t put him in Giroux’s league, but you look at a guy like Brayden Point-nobody thought he would be the player he is today, so you never know. Like Point, Kerins has some work to do on his skating, but I think he’ll be a nice 2nd line player. One interesting fact is that Kerins had 39 points more than his closest teammate, which really highlights what he accomplished this year.

So is Kerins eligible to join the Heat now? He did play 4 games for them this year.

I can't find anything in the AHL rulebook that would rule him out from playing. As long as he's under contract to the parent club (which he is), and his name and number are submitted on the line-up card, I can't see why he couldn't play. I could be wrong though.....

Seattle has battled back to tie the series 3-3 with Portland, with a 2-1 win. All zeros for Ciona, other than a game-high 7 shots. 10gp/5g/2a/7pts,+5, 10 PIM. (They awarded Ciona with an assist and a +1 well after Saturday's game).

I disliked the Ciona pick at the time it was made. He had never put up numbers, and I almost considered it to be a wasted draft pick.
But the dude has definitely put up a solid season, all things considered. He seems to be improving pretty consistently. I never would have guessed that Ciona would have better numbers than Huckins (of course that's just one part of the story).

Ciona with a better season than Huckins, Whynot, Jordan and maybe even Stromgren. Basically everyone picked ahead of him except Beck and Coronato.

I read a few scouting reports on Ciona in his draft year that were very hard on his skating. One writer said that he would never come close to making it because of his speed. I watched him closely at camp, and I thought that while his skating needs a ton of work, I've seen plenty worse. He was drafted for his toughness and character, and that's represented by the "A" he wears for Seattle. I'm still betting he never plays an NHL game, though.
Jury is still out on Huckins, due to the mystery surrounding his mid-season banishment from the team, but he was having a real solid season (25 points in 28 games) before leaving. Mystery aside, the eye test says that Huckins is still the better player and prospect IMO.

Interesting fact: Ciona is coached by Matt O'Dette, who played 3 years for the Saint John Flames in the late nineties.

Charlottetown wins the series 3-0 against Acadie Bathurst, with a 3-1 win. Huckins gets his team's only goal. 8gp/2g/2a/4pts,+2, 8 PIM. The only junior Flames prospect left playing in the playoffs is Ciona with Seattle.

Thanks for everything you do in this thread Sandman, appreciate it.
I haven't been following too closely this season, but what's the deal with Poirier? I just assumed he'd have a monster season, but for a guy in his 4th season his stats are a lot more 'meh' than I thought.

Last year, Poirier was playing PP1 and top pairing ES mins (or close to it). Once the Sea Dogs acquired overager, Vincent Sevigny, earlier this season, Poirier was bumped down to second pairing at ES. He also now has to share prime PP time with both Sevigny and Villeneuve instead of just the latter.
Similar situation for Francis, whose stats took a little bit of a dive because he spent a large portion of the season on the second line.
The Sea Dogs had a really deep team this year
