In the NE area, I found A B King Pizza in Pineridge to be pretty good for it's cheap value.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but I just had Estoria in the SE.
One of the best I've had in a while, and the closest I've found to Volos.
Highly recommend this one.

Matador Pizza has a truck with the Gadsden flag on the back window? Why do these pizza places feel the need to make political statements? This one is fairly benign compared to WOP and Paul’s but I wouldn’t be surprised if the owner wasn’t a Freedumb supporter too.

Probably the low barrier-to-entry and historical blue collar/mob nature of Pizza joints

My wife brought home a Sweet and Spicey Sausage pizza from there last night. It was awesome, thanks again for the recommendation.

I'm going to order from Pizzeria Gaga tonight. It's been a while since I've had their pizza and I'm looking forward to it. Best thin crust pizza in the city.

Tried Royal Pizza last night on Macleod Tr last night as I didn't feel like cooking and they're currently running a 1/2 price second pizza right now at their Calgary locations. Review- Not bad, I was sort of expecting more of a Sammys style/ Crispy Crust that are more loaded up with toppings. I's say it was better than most of the local chains but not as good as the ones I mentioned- Might try again if the deal is still on to get one if their specialty pizzas, but it's expensive for what you get regular price

I tried POW Pizza, kind of disappointed that I liked it so much cause I don’t plan on frequenting there again based on the owner calling everybody wearing masks, “losers”. Sooo, where else to get a Detroit-style pizza? Is Sunday Pie really just open one day a week?

Connie and John's and Sunday Pie (yes only Sundays. They have oven problems right now apparently, so not even open the last few weeks). Connie and John's NY style is there better pie in my opinion though.

I noticed POW Pizza Brentwood shut down permanently. Before all their crazy anti-vax stuff it was always super busy there when I would pick up. We boycotted after they went all anti-vax and I wonder if their politics cost them a lot of their business in the NW.

We went there on a Friday at the Renfrew location and it was kind of dead. Not exactly a popular location, but this was near dinner time. It’s too bad they can’t or won’t distance themselves from that guy. It was really good pizza.

Pre COVID you had to call long in advance to get a pizza on the weekend.
Now you could walk right up and get one, if you wanted to support that company, which I don't.
Shame as I live 100y away.

Celebrated Square Root Day

This is the fallout that a lot of these anti vax places will be suffering. They feasted on the media attention and subsequent support of hundreds of anti vaxers online and dozens packing their restaurants in defiance.
I could see owners being in the middle of that hoopla and thinking they had it made with their new found supporters. Many of us warned that those people won't be there once the social media firestorm dies down and you'll have lost a good percentage of your non anti vax customer base as well.
No sympathy, this is the end result of smiling through your defiance with a bunch of dumbasses mucking it up in your restaurant shouting empty promises about supporting you.

I personally boycott Paul's Pizza in Shawnessy for the same reason. I haven't been by it or heard from anyone if it is busy or not these days.
