Don't get me wrong Calgary is the better team no doubt about it.

Such a double edged sword. If Calgary knocks out Edmonton in round 2 that's a feeling that'll quell (rightly or wrongly) a lot of down seasons for me.

But if we were to do the unthinkable and get bounced by those fools I/we will never hear the end of it. GFG
I'm on the same page. Living and working in Edmonton is bad enough for a Flames fan, but during a BOA playoff series it may be unbearable. I'm seriously considering taking 2 weeks off to avoid the office chatter and proliferation of oilers jerseys. Even if the Flames do win, it will be non-stop whining about the reffing, the dirty Flames, boring Sutter hockey, etc. etc.

I will donate $40 to CP if Toffoli or Dube or Jarnkrok score and we win the game.
I turned the game off after Dallas went up 1-0 last game and then followed it on my phone after so I know what I must do today.

They have the 2nd line right now ... but I'd rather reunite the top line and go with Toffoli with Dube and Jarnkrok.

That top six can run over a game.

That's brutal. I have the misfortune of working with a handful of Oiler fans. I simply couldn't bear living among them. You are a braver soul than I.

Excited about tonight. Kind of nice to have a game where the pressure is all on Dallas - they haven't really had that in this series. Obviously hoping to close out the series but a loss tonight is not the end of the world.

I don't see another shut down game from Dallas tonight. Calgary is improving offensively as the series goes on (GF - 1, 0, 2, 4, 3). The PP and first line are both due for a breakout. If we score 3 and get another strong game from Markstrom we clinch tonight.

I agree with Bingo -- unless he's injured or something, put Tkachuk back on the top line and hope he picks up his game because he's been the weak link on that line so far.

Otherwise, I agree with swapping Toffoli and Tkachuk. Toffoli can use some better playmakers, and Tkachuk might be better suited playing a simpler game with more north-south players.

GFG!

I hear you. But I like the balance this brings.

I think Tkachuk can be effective anywhere. And Gaudreau and Lindholm can still be dominant with Toffoli, as they showed last game.

Especially with how Lewis has elevated his game in these playoffs, we really need to settle into what you're proposing. That's the best group of lines possible. The 4th line won't be a big pain point, and those lines 1-3 are absolutely fantastic. Dube was with Toffoli when we first acquired him, no? Seems like that was the best version of Toffoli we've seen so far (although right now I'd say that he's just not getting the bounces).

Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Jarnkrok - Toffoli
Lucic - Lewis - Ritchie/Stone (12/6 or 11/7)

I like this. Hopefully we will stick with stone; having the extra D allows the blueliners to be better rested and more aggressive at both attacking and defending as a result.

Another option would be to swap Lewis and Jarnkrok, considering how effective Lewis has been.

That's the point.

Also, Tkachuk LIKES to stir it up, which I don't mind at all, but his antics pull Gaudreau into the fray. I would rather Tkachuk stir it up with Dallas without it affecting the top line.

Flames need to come out ready to play and score the first goal. If they do that I think Dallas will panic.

No stupid penalties. As we saw in the Tampa game, the refs aren't going to be hard in the team facing elimination.

Sutter knows best but I agree with the idea that if Toffoli can pick it up playing with Johnny and Lindy that would be fantastic.

As Enoch Root said Chucky can play anywhere.

It's Friday the 13th... Johnny wears #13... He was also born on a Friday the 13th... Flames won game one 10 days ago... 13-10 = 3. Therefore, hat trick by Johnny tonight

Hard to argue with that logic.

And he is due, we have been getting PDO'd all series.

I'm all for Tkachuk starting on the 3rd. Toffoli looked good on the top line

Just for the love of god keep the 2nd line together

My only two years living in Edmonton had them a combined 30 games under .500 in two seasons.

People didn't bring up hockey much with me in the room

Flames were 20 games over .500 in those two seasons.
