The most toxic part of CP has and may always be GTs. There's a reason I avoid them as best I can, and I certainly do not need it summarized in the PGTs.

I think the WOS is tacky and divisive when we should be galvanizing as a fan base. That said now that I know what it is I can simply scroll past it. I hope it doesn't take hold as a tradition but I'm not going to let it impact my enjoyment of the games either.

Yeah, that wall of shame is way too long to read through, and that's because for every ridiculous comment there's one that's literally just accurately describing the game at that point. Things like "The Flames haven't been doing x, they need to start..." is just silly to mock and like I said, makes it way too long to read through for what it is.

Neat idea, but Gaskal understands the proper length for those things, this one was like "yeah, okay I got the idea" after about 20 comments and then it's on to the next post.

The controversy has literally become the driving force for the WoS.

It appears people either love it, or love to hate it.

But there is a lot of demand from what I can tell as I've recieved numerous messages of thanks & encouragement privately and publicly and the supporters appear to outnumber the detractors.

What we need is a "I Was Just Kidding" compilation of Wall Of Shame comments.

Yeah you and Cecil need to step up your games.

Although apparently he's made a commitment to being "genuine" now.

I think the Dallas fans who blame Bowness for some of their troubles and think he's a terrible coach are missing the fact that their team is not very good and can't play any style successfully except "trap and hope" because they have only one line of decent players. A coach who'd open the game up would already be planning for next season because the Stars would have been swept.

Not that he's an amazing coach, but you have to adapt to the personnel you have. That boring style is suited to that team - play low event hockey and hope your big guys come through with a couple goals.

ATL could also be shorter as there’s many similar/repetitive comments.

Idk, it seems too much like bullying to me. It isn't "self-deprecating" as DjsFlames likes to say in his defense of it, when you are calling out other people, even if you include your own take now and then. It's like a mass drive-by post which includes no rebuttal of the original posts. Maybe create a post-game "mock my own posts" where people can self-deprecate to their heart's desire? "People shouldn't post if they don't want to be criticized" is just messaging to support the bullying - there's no "criticism" going on in the post, just shaming.

I post this as someone who absolutely HATES the excessive negativity in the GT's and actively avoid them for the most part.

Having said all this, I'll just ignore them.

Yeah I will not normally make it that long I don't think.

That was a lot of work, but you guys left me a goldmine!

I'll try and cut it down to the more dramatic and shameful ones.

Nothing worse than a perpetually negative person who does nothing but piss and moan, complaining all the time. It's about time some of that crap is highlighted and laughed at.

I would just go for dramatic posts that suggest the team sucks overall or have no hope of winning the game/series etc. The perpetually negative posters that are just looking to crap on the Flames as soon as the puck drops, if you will. I felt the idea was fine, just the slog of posts that criticized the play that were actually accurate at the time of posting made it go on way too long and weren't the posts to be mocked, imo.

Saying the team wasn't playing well enough or was missing an element of their game up until the third period doesn't look bad in hindsight just because they played well in the third and won. It was true at the time, not shameful.

Man CP is so funny, came in here for new comments about the game last night and we are still going on about the WoS?

Lol, typical CP stuff here.

Lets bring it back on topic, those first 2 periods were rough, we had some chances and looked promising but we needed some more things happening, big hits, maybe a fight, some rough stuff (not to distract from our game, but a little doesn't hurt). You can see the Flames confidence sore when they score or get momentum, if we want to make it to the next round this team really needs to capitalize early, enough of this being patient. We can dominate the stars tomorrow and I predict a big win, convincing fashion to show the hockey world the Flames are for real.

Wall of Shame should exclusively be reserved for posts alluding to SHUTOUTS for the opposing goalie.

That's not how it works. At all.

Shame! Shame! Shame!

Or all you really need is to copy and paste whatever drivel BoLevi posts. Course you won't ever get anything if the Flames take an early lead.
