Out with my parents and a bunch of family for mother's day and some of them were talking about going for karaoke, not everyone sings so might not be very fun, but we were talking about different songs and I think we figured out the top S-Tier popular song for karaoke... You'd have to be like this family and practice a lot.

There's not much actual singing in that final product at all, if any lol. That's about as overproduced and digitally perfected as it gets for vocals. Like literally lip synching pretty much. But I guess that's like 90% of singing videos made by people now a days.

They practiced shooting the video.

What music videos aren't lip synced though? Seems like any music video, record the the audio then film the video.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but that was a little overrated for a Disney song. I was expecting more based on the hype around it.

Well the mom certainly has the right proportions for a Disney/Pixar mom...

Maybe I wasn't clear. I'm not saying they recorded the audio and then filmed the video and that's why it's lip synching, I'm saying it was clearly completely lip-synched from whatever original audio they recorded.

There's no actual singing going on there relative to what you're hearing, at all. There's a huge difference between an artist who can sing and lip synchs to it because they're performing a video vs regular people that clearly don't sing just mouthing along to tracks that they couldn't even dream of hitting.

Sorry for the debbie downer post, just from someone who's around vocal recordings a lot, these are not anywhere close to anything when you hear those recordings. This a family doing a fun video, while mouthing the words. Just watch the people and hear the recordings.

I wouldn't have said anything other than Photon said you'd have to practice a lot to be like that family.

EDIT: I'm old and curmudgeonly with music now. I respect that in the new social media world it's more about what video you can make with "music" and "singing" and how entertaining it is and nothing to do with ability to sing, if at all.

You'd still have to practice a lot to be able to sing it in karaoke, my point was about the song itself being a hard karaoke song rather than the first search result of someone singing it.

I do a lot of music production as well and I don't think this is entirely true; they do have videos on their channel (god it's a big channel) and TikTok where they are singing live/recording off the floor and it's clear that most if not all of the family are at minimum capable singers if not pretty damn decent.

Honestly the impression I get is that they put a lot more effort into the recordings than the videos which is why the lip sync/editing is sloppy, which makes sense since they're pushing a video out twice a week.

(I will agree that the vocal processing does sound like they are just finding the key and slapping AutoTune EFX+ on it without any attempt at humanization but that's not uncommon)

Didn't realize there was hype around that song, but it seems pretty mediocre for a disney/pixar song.

Everyone knows "i wanna be like you" from the jungle book is the best - inherent racism aside

There was a deer one that was hilarious from back in the day, too. I think it was in someone's backyard and runs through a playset or something like that.
