You may not mean to be hurtful, but that doesn't mean people don't feel shamed when you call out them specifically.
If you had just posted a list of the comments but not attributed them to who posted them nobody would have thought twice about it.

The list of rules on this site are enforced very loosely for some posters on here and pretty tight for others. Reminds me of NHL officiating actually.

No I meant we've been threatened by law firms that they were going to give us their office space.

Lol.
If you knowingly write the comment logged in under your screen name and click post, then you're essentially accepting accountability for it, for better or worse.
Erasing names doesn't mean much when people can just go to the game thread and see it for themselves.
If you're that ashamed of being quoted then maybe don't post it in the first place?
Anyways I'd much rather move on and just discuss the game and hockey.

We have been over this in prior threads before with multiple posters chiming in. Your site, your mods, they can play favourites if they like and they do, there is no doubt about it. I have received infractions for the most minor of things, I have had posters personally attack me, report the post, and the post was not even edited or removed. There is literally posters that spend almost all their time in the off topic thread whose only contributions are to either cause trouble or insult others. We all know who they are. Do the mods have a thankless job? Sure. Are the rules actually enforced equally and fairly? Not a chance and we all know it. Doesn't matter to me, in the end it's a message board but let's at least be honest about it.

Bit of a random hockey stat question: how does +/- work for a penalty shot goal? Is it simply ignored like a pp goal?

I never said anything about not being held accountable for your own posts. I take issue with the manner in which you are doing so. Ridicule the content of the post. Call out the post. Making a list and calling it the Wall of Shame is criticizing posters.

They totally should not. The Sens are irrelevant at this point. Be happy for Brady that he can cheer on another team that his brother is part of. Geez. The fact that there is even deliberation over Brady cheering for another team, when it has no bearing on his team or his professional dedication to that team, just shows how over sensitive people have become. Always looking for a way to be wronged so they can look for some sort of social justice. It's sad!

They shouldn't - it's not like he's wearing the Flames jersey. It's more of a Matthew Tkachuk shirt than a Flames shirt.
I wouldn't have a problem with Matthew doing the same thing for Brady. I doubt the Sens have cool shirts that he would actually wear though.

I'm not sure how you still don't understand that its meant in jest with a ridiculous, goofy title like that.

There were a ton of embarrassing posts with massive overreactions the last couple of days. It seems people are taking the success of this team deeply personally. I found the PGT from game 3 and the game thread from last night almost unreadable as it seemed like it was a contest to see who could find the most negative take.
It seems to me that DJs having a bit of fun with this and bringing up some of the hottest of the hot takes. It is pretty funny to take a look at it and see what was said not even 24 hours ago. If I am ever included on it I would probably have a chuckle looking back and be perfectly fine with it as no one is forcing me to post that way.
Flames played great last night and now its the best of 3. I'm glad the team faced some adversity early as it will bode well for them if they can take this series and go on a deeper run. They won't be scared of a hot goalie anymore that's for sure.

I thhink we should lean into the Wall of Shame. Just go All-In!
Find the guys that were quoted in it, Re-Open CP Chat for Game Days, take up a collection to provide them with drinks get them logged into CP chat or a live-stream and just wind 'em up and let 'em go!
Hell...a big reason I watch a lot of these games alone isnt just because of convenience.
I mean...we have to take a sense of humour about this at some point. We're passionate, every little mistake or call that doesnt go your way is amplified by x1000 but you're on the internet! Who cares? You're not hurting anyone, you're just venting.
And then to have that thrown back at you later? Its an opportunity to either laugh at yourself (important skill!) or if you must, learn to tone it down.
Or not. It is still supposed to be fun.

This is very true.
They needed to face adversity and conquer it.
If Dallas had just folded from the outset then we would meet all our demons in round two instead and risk a potential faceplant against our provincial rivals.
I think now (if they can keep it up for two more games), we'll be much, much better prepared for whatever comes later, should we make it.

We went up 1-0 and COMPLETELY controlled the play. Did I think we were going to give up a softie, collapse and become yet another Flames team that burns out and chokes the first round? Absolutely. It's what we're all used to, and bad habits take a long time to correct.
But then I thought back to the regular season, and remembered how ridiculously dominating this team can be/was. They are going to give you an honest effort all game, never quit no matter what the score is, and even IF Dallas scored a cheap goal it wouldn't last very long. The way Calgary was playing last night....there's very few teams that would be able to keep up. THAT should be our new normal.
The team needed a few games to find its mojo. Mojo found. IMO Dallas is on the cusp of getting run out of the arena just like Mr Bowness predicted.

Anyway.
Can we talk about the sweet karmic justice of the Stars getting scored on instantly as the crowd is singing along to Living on a Prayer?
Puts the wave debate to rest, for now

Honestly, what I like about the Flames fan base is that we aren't totally arrogant about our position. We aren't Oilers or Canucks fans who are declaring themselves elite favorites every time the Flames go on a hot streak or get a bit of media love. The general mood has been I hope we win, but its far from certain. It's reflective of a more knowledgeable base, that knows enough about hockey to know how difficult a cup win is to achieve.

I mean, is the post about demolishing the saddledome if they lose or Oettenger being the greatest goalie of all time worthy of shaming? They're both clearly jokes. Or talking about the flames holding their sticks too tight? That seems true. Or the one about the D-core being kinda undersized and average, maybe you disagree with it which is obviously fine, those are subjective terms, but it's not exactly a hot take or unhinged in any way. Even Mangiapane being 'hot garbage', I don't think anyone would say he's playing very well right now, and what, that claim is completely disproven now because the top line and PP scored all the Flames goals and they happened to win? I don't get the complaints about 'negativity', when you have a team underperforming their usual level and in a dogfight against a bottom seed not scoring goals, people are gonna be upset...maybe you guys should start a positivity thread where you can only say nice happy things and that way you won't have to read anything that upsets you?
Obviously trolling or crazy hot takes is not good but if that wall is supposed to be calling out those things...seems like you reached for most of them
