I think Johnny is getting better and better every game and he’s going to bust out in a huge way in game 5. He’s going to blow the roof off the dome on Wednesday.

If you look back the game, look at the effort at 3:20 left when Toffoli makes a safe PP play behind the net. Backlund isn’t in position nor really hustles to try and get position or the puck, Dallas clears.

Next time up ice 15 seconds later, he watches the puck in no man’s land and doesn’t cover Andersson and then let’s Pavelski skate right past him, and takes another penalty because of his laziness. Just ridiculous.
Agree. So many slow or just completely incorrect plays tonight. A possession black hole, and that's the opposite of what his game is supposed to be. Had a few better plays in the 3rd though.

I actually thought the elbow was mostly an accident though, it was a forearm shiver to the shoulder but it rode up.

- Pavelski held Backlund’s stick under his arm to draw a penalty late in the third — was clear as day even at game speed

Bad calls happen, but do better stripes.

He must've watched McDiver

Congrats!

Btw this will be a new PGT feature moving forward for playoffs.

It will also help expose the chronic Neggie Nellies and help them reflect on their poor attitudes (hopefully).

If the last couple days has shown anything it's that we need more faith in here.

I thought the call on Mangi on the faceoff after the Stars 3 min shift was the worst. 2 minutes for your opponents being exhausted.

Savvy veteran play by Pavelski there - seemed like he even slowed down to entrap Backlund into it. I think the right call would actually have been both holding on Backs and holding the stick on Pavelski.

Didn't like the Hakanpa hit from behind in the 3rd either.

Possession black hole? I bet the stats disagree.

It's just for fun, dude (including the lack of context).

And no, I am 100% no Gaskal.

If JG doesn’t pot that and somehow the Flames get robbed of a win tonight those final 12 minutes and go down 3-1 the talk about his future here could’ve gotten very messy (wrongfully so, but the knives started to appear when he missed a breakaway last game).

Also, what a great call by Ball. You can tell he’s excited in calling these games. Please please we need him in round 2. And Millen, no reverting back to Cassie. I’d have to get the TBS feed if it’s Singh, nevermind Cassie or Louie as well.
So true. Regardless of what happens the rest of the playoffs, the Flames have sign him. You simply can’t replace his production with spare parts in free agency. He is not even close to the issue in either loss. He’s driving play. Needs some help from the anemic middle six.

My only regret tonight was Namestikov not getting what he is owed for that hit on Jonny, but I’m fine with him paying later… no need for stupid penalties in a game this important. Somebody fill his face in next season if needed.

Gaudreau stepped up big time, huge character play by him. Maybe his biggest game ever as a flame? Was buzzing all night, overcame that headshot, but the true measure was nutting up and burying that penalty shot when he absolutely had to. I don’t think the flames win without that 2-0 lead. We need him playing like this to go far.

Exactly why. So now you wanna bring negativity to the forum after a win? Congrats. You got your wish.

100% this. Mcdavid would have pulled out a game 7 Stanley cup win celebration for that goal.
