Agreed, but I’d be surprised if, or when, the story ever gets told, that Lucic asked Sutter to get out there first shift because he had to clear that up…don’t think Sutter has to do much in that case. If Lucic wasn’t available, Gudbranson would’ve wanted to take that draw and do the same thing.

Refs did a better job of not constantly calling off-setting penalties, but two penalties were totally bogus:

- Heiskanen tried to do a reverse hit on Hanifin, fell on top of Hanifin, and Hanifin gets called for holding in the second

- Pavelski held Backlund’s stick under his arm to draw a penalty late in the third — was clear as day even at game speed

Bad calls happen, but do better stripes.

Always enjoy the bench shots. Players varying levels of excitement. Trainers with fist bumps, Huska a little jump at far end, and all coaches, except Sutter, have some sort of happy reaction.

Sutter barely gave a fist pump after winning the WC in 2004, he’s not going to get excited about a game 4 penalty shot in the first round.

If JG doesn’t pot that and somehow the Flames get robbed of a win tonight those final 12 minutes and go down 3-1 the talk about his future here could’ve gotten very messy (wrongfully so, but the knives started to appear when he missed a breakaway last game).

Also, what a great call by Ball. You can tell he’s excited in calling these games. Please please we need him in round 2. And Millen, no reverting back to Cassie. I’d have to get the TBS feed if it’s Singh, nevermind Cassie or Louie as well.
