After game 1, the team brushes off Klingberg saying they don’t care….which is obviously BS. WTF is tkachuk doing??? He needs to stop fighting and start scoring which if he broke his hand isn’t gonna happen. I’m beyond frustrated with this team. We’ve got no answer for Dallas which makes me wanna puke. Reffing hasn’t been great but it’s definitely not the reason we’re losing. I dunno. I wanna believe that this team can rebound and take the series but I’m sure not seeing any reason to.

Again that's a simplified way of looking things.
You can't blame the guy when he's given up 4 goals in 3 games.
I'm surprised this is even a discussion point.

Scoring Winger
|
Tkachuk can stop ####ing fighting in the first five minutes of the game. He's just risking injury (which he might of done tonight). It also hasn't really done anything from what I can tell, the team doesn't get any life after it that's for sure, probably tired of the same narrative for the last three games. Our 100 point player fights, and then the team gets two powerplays and are missing a key part of our powerplay.
Between Tkachuk, and basically 80% of our 2nd and 3rd lines, the team has to get going. They have scored 3 goals in 4 games against a Dallas stars team that was -8 goal differential during the regular season. Just not good.

Tough not to have Gaudreau score there, especially as it was a miscue on Dallas' part. We just don't seem to have the game-breaking players that is needed at big moments unfortunately. Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Lindholm... despite their year and success, just doesn't seem to have it?
Lots of hockey left for them to prove us all wrong though!

Lindolhm has two goals including a game winner.

Frustrating to say the least since I thought overall we were the better team. Crazy how they can’t figure out how to score in the playoffs. Johnny looked good tonight, Lindholm had several chances, 4th line was solid. Not a fan of Toffoli’s game at all and Tkachuk struggled after mixing it up with Klingberg early.
I think it is time to swap Toffoli and Coleman.
I still feel like we are going to win this series.

I don’t see how this team wins 3 of the next 4.
The only thing sparing us from how pathetic our last 30 years has been is how the Oilers have been more pathetic. But now they’re poised for a big run and their troll fans are actually trolling.
It just sucks to be a Flames fan. It really does.

Jarnkrok is small. Whole 3rd line is small. Not sure what’s up with Tiffoli but he’s doing dick all out there. Wonder if he’s smoking 10 packs of cigs or something. He looks out of it on the ice!

Win on Monday and I like their chances in a best of 3 with two at home.
|
No, they played generally well, except the GWG. The Stars scored on basically every chance they had and we have zero puck luck atm.
But who cares? They didn't win. They cannot find a way to win in the playoffs. That's the story.

Wrong way to look at it.
The Flames have to win next game. And if they do, they've won back home ice advantage

No it wasn’t. That’s ridiculous. It should not be close. Flames were an elite regular season team. Dallas was not.
No other team this playoffs is playing further below regular season performance than the flames.
At least florida and NY are playing really good teams. Dallas barely made the playoffs.

Love the analysis from TNT so far.
Tocchet
1. Stupid penalty from Coleman. Panel agreed, there was no danger as all he had to do was pick up the third man.
2. Figures the flames players are holding the stick too tightly.
3. They need to get back to being creative and trying to score.
Paul Biz
1. Worries that if the flames get ousted, he is going to lose a bet. Especially if the Oilers go further than Calgary.
2. Flames are facing adversity which they never faced in the regular season.
3. Flames are losing most of the puck battles, which they didn't in the regular season.
4. Pissed off at Pavelski, as this is impacting his Flames prediction.
Carter
1. Unlike some other teams, they don't have a big horse on the back end like a Makar or Ekblad(odd since he is injured), who will carry the puck with authority from the back end to create offence.
2. Felt that even though the flames were 6th in offence, it was on the backs of the first line, the secondary scoring was never the driver for them.
The panel agreed on a comment that the playoffs and the breakaway from Johnny is being watched due to the Ufa.
They also bashed Anderson for how he played the on the winning goal.

I was just thinking that as well. Who else can we put on PP1, this guy is clearly cursed right now and we need to be taking advantage of those powerplays.

The other guy used the word...
Last post on the topic. Markstrom was the second best goalie tonight, that's how I saw it. It's a tight series and a a tight game. In the one game where both teams actually scored, markstrom was no-contest not the goalie who gave his team the best chance to win. He's not the only reason they lost, but he's paid to be a guy that leads this team.

So, you know on Monday someone is going to go after Tkachuk, if he engages and goes off for a period again, he needs a stern talking to.
Just play hockey, you're top 10 in league scoring. Play hockey for eff sakes.
