Yeah this is crazy. Not even through a proxy like they normally do. Straight up Iran bombing the US. Would be surprised if there is not a big US response.

I think the U.S. needs to have a strong response. Iran is obviously trying to take advantage of current events and will continue to escalate if there isn't a strong response.

It was an empty just constructed US building. There is no way Iran is going to start purposely firing missiles at the US

So this didn't hit the US buildings and no injuries. They were going after Israeli sources after Israel killed some people in Syria a few days ago (https://www.reuters.com/world/middle...na-2022-03-09/). That's probably not good, but not something the US needs to get involved with.

The war-hawks, Biden is weak, Israel who wants the US to obliterate Iran and Ukraine media who want US/NATO to get involved went wild with it online however.

The Russian ambassador to Bosnia threatened the country today if it pursues NATO membership.

Quote:
In comments made to the broadcaster FTV on Thursday, Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Kalbukhov claimed the country could do as it wishes in regards to the alliance—but warned that Moscow would respond.

“If [Bosnia and Herzegovina] decides to be a member of any alliance, that is an internal matter. Our response is a different matter. Ukraine’s example shows what we expect. Should there be any threat, we will respond,” he said in comments carried by Euractiv.

Welcome to the club, Bosnia! They've already threatened at least Finland and Sweden over the same thing.

Of course they've threatened pretty much everyone at this point over something.

So apparently that Russian drone and bomb that hit Zagreb a few days ago wasn't even detected by radar. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for NATO's early warning air defense if this was actually a test by Russia.

For full disclosure, I don't think it is confirmed that it wasn't an errant drone used by Ukraine. That is pretty far off target though. Like 1,000 km off target.

Well hopefully this is just a sign of a potential peaceful Irish unification but this could unsettle things in Northern Ireland

Also a shocking turn of events. First loss for the DUP since the Good Friday agreement.

In this day in age, would Great Britain really resist too hard if N. Ireland democratically wanted to unify with the Republic of Ireland? I am unfamiliar with how important N. Ireland is to the Great Britain economy, but from the religion angle, it seems moot. The Anglican and Catholic Churches are on good terms. I believe the Monarchy even rescinded the ban on Catholics being able to reign, which was obviously more symbolic than anything.

As long as there isn't a violent uprising, I doubt Britain would stand in their way.

I don't think Great Britain would do much (they will likely lose Scotland at some point).

But wasn't the fighting between factions in NI? Sinn Fein has/had connections to the IRA who did a lot of bombings.

The problem though is the Protestants in N Ireland kicking off, bombs going off in Dublin at Christmas rather than London.
