Oiler fans chanting "we want the cup"
in game two of round one...after tying the series with a rebuilding team missing two of their best players

Well, the Kings got dominated in the 2nd and 3rd as the Oilers offense took over. Hopefully they show up better next game.

Really? That's pretty cringey to say the least, but would also be pretty much on brand.

If I'm not mistaken, they were also chanting "MVP" for McDummy when it was only 2-0.

Yep, not during the play but when as the fans were leaving and in the background of interviews ect.

This game was decided on a Smith dive that was so blatantly obvious even the oilers fans I was watching with called it blatant embellishment. Hockey gods will not like that. Kings in 5.

Game 1: Smith dive loses game.
Game 2: Smith dive wins game.
Game 3: Smith dive injures groin.

McDavid and Drysaddle were the dirtiest players on the Oilers. I wish someone would hold them accountable. Drysaddle is a crosschecking machine.

Going back to LA with a split is a win for the Kings but they really need to work on the PK as the Oilers are scoring at a rate of 2 PPG/game so far in the series and that's not a recipe for success against the Oilers.

Well, apparently it IS a recipe for success, seeing as how they are going home with a split!

Just one of those games where everything that could go wrong for the Kings, did. The Smith dive and the ensuing PP completely changed the momentum, and then the short handed goal to make it 2-0 was the back-breaker. Everything just snowballed from there and LA unravelled. I have no doubt they'll be much better in game 3.
And for f*** sakes Kings, get your special teams in order.

When is Arvidsson returning, or did he?

If it's not going to be a sweep, then fingers crossed it goes 7.
Hoping the Kings can respond in Game 3; getting Arvidsson back in the lineup would give them a boost.
Also couldn't care less about the Sportsnet panel or the media dopes in Edmonton. They're just salivating for a McDavid playoff storyline as its been FIVE year wait. **** those guys.

I could not believe that... you want to stop diving referees, it's very simple, the obvious diver/embellisher (has to be obvious - like Smith's last night, delayed falling star fish) gets a penalty and no one else - this taking both players doesn't deter diving at all - at best the diver's team gets a powerplay and at worst it's 4 on 4.
And what is Kelly Hrudey doing calling this a "good play" by Smith diving. Kelly, it's called cheating, and just because he got away with it, that doesn't make it a "good play" or right - kids are watching these games, we want them to play honest hockey, and I know the NHL is "big business" and "we'll do everything to win" - but where do you draw the line, where are your morals, cheating is cheating and it shouldn't be praised as a "good play" regardless of the outcome.

What makes it worse is that Edmonton knows they can get away with it, so they’ll no doubt continue to dive their way through the rest of the series, knowing they’ll be gifted PPs as a result. L.A. had better improve their PK, because they’re gonna need it.

I hate it when diving is rewarded. So happy the Canucks didn't win in 2011 (for obvious reasons) but also because of the diving. It was such an embarrassing playoff with Kesler and the twins dive fest.
Hopefully the Oilers are eliminated R1 so the diving is confined.
