Are we allowing an exception for white pedestal jerseys? Because we should be.

- have your phone run out of battery while waiting in line to enter the dome. And your friends are already inside so you can’t contact anyone and miss the game

- get paper cuts under your fingernails and in the webbing of your fingers

- run out if TP the next time you have diarrhea and there’s no extra rolls. And you’re at work and you have a big meeting with the boss in 20 minutes.

- have diarrhea every day for a week

- do one of those ancestry tests only to find out you’re adopted. And to make it worse, you get a positive match…with your wife.

- your children grow up to be Oiler fans

- you pour a bowl of cereal and when you go to add milk you find out there only like an eighth of a cup left

- you get wrongfully put on the no fly list and get regular deep cavity searches when you travel. And travel is part of your job.

The red shoulders help... but still not fully red.

Blasty looks fine because it blends in as dark. White look out of place.

There were at least 2 people wearing these that were visible in the lower bowl...

As I asked in the game thread, how can you be a big enough fan that you actually bought this but still be clueless enough to think it's appropriate to wear to a playoff game?

Threatening people with a good time is ineffective.

The crowd never was all red in the 80s you had a bigger group wear the color but it's not like today. Most wore from my memory white home jerseys and red t-shirts not all were Flames shirts just with red on them.

Jerseys weren't as common place back then -- and yes it was more of a playoff thing I believe. If you watch old footage I believe the style of the day were red sweaters with a small Flames logo on them (but any red shirt was acceptable). I still have a red Flames sweater from the 80's (v-neck) that my dad owned.

The only acceptable excuse for not wearing red is if you've just come from attending your Mother's funeral. Even then, be aware that she is looking down on you from heaven with disdain.

It is acceptable to wear a red Habs jersey instead of a red Flames jersey… but only to show that you were personally in attendance at Guy Lafleur's funeral. Such people are favoured by the hockey gods and receive extra latitude.

If you wear it for any other reason, I hope the next time you order poutine, you have a Montrealer go ham on you for saying ‘poo-TEEN’ instead of ‘poo-TIN’.

  • Pull out your phone to scan your game ticket and it is out of charge; and
  • You get directed to customer relations staff and they can't find your ticket in their system; and
  • You have to go to the ticket office to see if they can retrieve it; and
  • They finally find it but it's already mid-second period; and
  • You get to your seat and you think to yourself: why the f... did I not wear red???

This is also a picture that's not from a playoff game.

I wasn't referring to the photo but from my memories of the C of Red. I remember in 86 when it started radio stations would promote wearing anything red to the games. The C of red is way more organized and a big deal now. Even in 89 the crowds didn't wear as much red as they do today. By 1996 the C of red was pretty much not existent. It was 04 that really put C of Red on the map by everyone wearing Flames jerseys.
