Who said they weren't going to get as many cheap calls in the playoffs?
That was brutal

Reporting live from Rectal Centre 16 mins into the 2nd:

Mr Smith doing Mr Smith things and looking to blame anything and anyone after flailing and missing pucks on attempted saves

Coilers getting gifted a lot of non playoff type calls to get their PP on display. Their D looks slooooow

Kings playing a very patient style and getting some great looks off of a porous defensive effort by the Coilers

Crowd was completely out of it till the gifted PPs started rolling in

...just donated $27 for 2 beers on tap lol (arena tax)

PS, as loud as these die hards are trying to sound, our Dome is still much louder!

It’s nice of the league to let the Oilers play 5 on 4 for the playoffs.

It was discussed a lot before the series even started, if the refs call it like it's the playoffs, LA wins easily.

If they call it like it's the regular season, Oilers win easily

This has the potential to be the worst opening night of NHL playoffs in living memory. What a pile of crap.

LA is painful to watch.

Hopefully they get to play 5 on 5 in the third

I at least have the bliss of the Bally sports feed. So no Oilers nonsense.

Lol, of course the LA PP gets nullified by another penalty.

How fitting that Edmonton hands out those soon to be billions of pieces of plastic trash pompoms. Nothing says I peaked in high school like waving a second tier dollar store cheerleading Halloween prop every time your greasy team gets an even greasier PP. barf.

LA power play is just awful. Static, slow, they never seem to have a centerman in the slot on the PP or 5 on 5....

Yeah, honestly, powerplay help or not, LAs gonna have a tough go with the Oilers. They look slow and without a lot of execution.

Just in time for refs for tomorrow night to get a memo and flames to get no calls...

SN and the NHL are both praying for Leafs Oil final

Not sure why the NHL would want that. It's not like McDavid is enough to offset the TV eyeballs of LA.

Its not a conspiracy. NHL officiating is pure garbage. Plain and simple.

It’s truly astonishing that the Oilers have run with a goaltending duo of Mikko Smith and Mike Koskinen for three straight years.

How do you allow that to happen?

It’s weird but both of these teams seem to not be able dictate tempo that well 5 v 5. Especially the Oil, who just seem willing to pounce on mistakes with rushes and otherwise kind of wait and react. I think LA just isn’t that creative in that respect but they have some horses like Kopitar who can drive the play a bit.
