That’s the kind of catch we used to practice making in the backyard as kids- only super hard as opposed to diving catch off some lob

Awesome.

This team may not be totally healthy or firing on all cylinders offensively, but man are the gutsy. Bodes well for when they do start catching fire.

I wonder why you wouldn’t just walk Bregman there, put the double play back in effect, and take your chances with Romano vs the 8 and 9 hitters…

Whatever.

Romano is a closer’s closer.

Springer is the early-season MVP - saved the game today at the dish and in the field - that catch in the 9th was so difficult, and he made it look easy.

You could but you don't really want to put the go-ahead run on base. Next thing you know a wildpitch or something and it's 2nd and 3rd. You want the game tied, at worse.
I'm also surprised Tucker didn't try to steal 3rd at any point during the Bergman at-bat.
