So good.

Most electric Canadian crowd post-2000.

If the Flames just keep it 5 on 5, they might go a long ways.

Exactly.

Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Jarnkrok - Toffoli

The way Dube is playing now, and the speed that he and Jarnkrok have, make for good linemates for Toffoli. I think the above sets up the middle 6 best.

I was at Game 6 vs Detroit in 2004…and I still think game 3 vs Vancouver might have been louder.

That entire arena was just electric for those entire playoffs but for that first playoff game at home against Vancouver I’m not sure I’ve seen anything like it.

The Go Flames Go chant was consistent for at least 30 minutes before puck drop, I think I lost my voice before the puck even dropped.

Actually I think game 6 against Vancouver might have been the craziest in terms of sustained noise. After we tied it up that place was bananas.

Hard to beat game 6 OT against Detroit for sheer volume and celebration though.

Game 6 in ‘04. Not ‘15.

A memorable crowd noise moment was Bennett’s first home playoff game against the Nucks. He turns to Jankowski and said it’s f-ing crazy

BTW, Jamie Mcoun, Theo Fleury and Tim Hunter were at a Hockey Heroes event here in Whitecourt (Deep in Oilers fandom territory) and did a round table with some other Oilers alumni, and while the people in the crowd kept trying to get the Alumni on stage to pump up the Oilers, Tim and Jamie (and less so Theo, who just wanted to talk about himself) were effusive about Johnny. They said this is the best Calgary Flames team they have ever seen. Even from their playing days. And Johnny is the best player that may have ever put on the jersey.

They also couldnt say enough about Darryl as the best coach in the league.

The crowd wouldnt even boo them at their comments because Hunter was giving everyone the stare (hes awesome by the way, such a great speaker).

I'm surprised that Theo still gets invited to events. You'd think the Flames alumni association would want to distance themselves from him at this point.

He was very reserved. The MC was even roasting him on his social media viewpoints and he just kept his mouth shut

"If you're going head-to-head, your top line still has to create offense," Bowness said. "They're not out there to check, they're out there to create offense."

I bet Darryl disagrees

I went to game 6 of the final (IT WAS IN) and it was loud the entire game. It was like a concert - I had temporary hearing loss from all the noise.

Just caught up ... had another nightmarish day on the #1 highway (and detour).

Saw some concerned with how cocky or over confident some fans are.

I personally voted 5 games, but that's not to say I don't have some doubt and worries. Being a Flames fan has left a lot of scar tissue.

With that said I like a lot of things about the Flames ...

1. Sutter - huge difference and trumps the rest of the list
2. Goaltending
3. Depth up front
4. Depth on the blueline
5. Special teams

And then intangibles ... I really like how the Flames have improved their "weak" game of late. They're able to withstand pressure for the most part and not get in a lot of trouble (other than that sketchy ten minutes in the Winnipeg game).

Plus I see the Flames franchise as an all or none club. They have none most years, and then every once in a while they have that all year (doesn't mean cup, but a run). This feels like a all year to me.

nice of them to say that, but I don't believe it's true. the 89 group (not just that season but that season specifically) was better. I love this current iteration, but in 89 the Flames and Habs basically were on a different planet from the rest of the NHL. Flames are an amazing story this season but one of about 6 teams having special seasons

The Stars shouldn’t pose much of a challenge if the Flames can shut down their top line, leading to a second-round matchup against the Oilers, who have better top-end talent but lack depth, consistent goaltending and an experienced head coach.

For such an epic season, it's only fitting that it includes a playoff BOA.
